I have received 2 separate schedules (one for each vehicle) both showing my 10 years' NCB.

If I now try to obtain separate insurance quotes for the 2 cars, can I say that I have 10 years for each vehicle? Afterall, I have written proof?

<![CDATA[Is protecting NCD worth it?]]> Given that you have to declare all incidents to an insurer in any case, is there any value in protecting NCD?

Premiums seem to be higher. Is there any point?

<![CDATA[How do I find out if an Insurance company paid my money to someone else]]> In hospital in 2006 a family member made me sign my claim over to them without my knowledge even though I changed it with my solicitors days later. The insurance company that paid have covered the money I've been told was paid out but the I definitely know the person has received allot of money but just can't obtain proper proof to give to the police.

<![CDATA[Will my insurance be invalidated if I am unable to provide exact details of a motoring offence or accident?]]> I have obtained an online quote for insurance but as i have misplaced the counterpart of my Driving Licence, I can't remember the date of my penalty points or the offence code.

Similarly, I was also involved in an accident about 2 years ago but can't remember the exact date.

Although I have declared these on the quote form, unfortunately i have had to estimate the dates and codes. Will this cause a problem?

<![CDATA[Are there any Insurance companies offering multiple car policies?]]> We have 2 cars in the family and are insured with Admiral with their multiple car policy.

However, the renewal premium has jumped from £500 last year to over £800 this year with no accidents or any other changes. Are there any other insurance companies offering similar policies where there are 2 or more cars in the family?

<![CDATA[What are the procedures for importing a used motor car from abroad?]]> I have an ex-pat friend who is returning to the UK from the United Arab Emirates in the new year.

He wishes to bring his 4x4 Range Rover (4 year old used car, approx value £20,000) back with him but is unsure of the procedure for registering the vehicle in the UK eg. insurance, V5, MOT etc.and whether there would be any import tax/VAT liability. Please advise?

<![CDATA[I need help with a car insurance claim that is not our fault. A little complicated maybe?]]> Ok, so my other half borrowed my Dads veichle, insured through our own policy. Only third party fire and theft under the driving other veichle section of the policy.

Anyway. Other half was driving on a single track road, that is quite bendy etc. THey caught a glimpse of another car aproaching so they moved over and mounted the verge, but kept driving. The other car seemingly didn't see him though and they colided head on.

I have taken pictures. Mainly AFTER the accident. A friend took a picture of where the other car ended but not in situ with the viechle my other half was driving.

I have pictures of damage to both veichles. It clearly shows that the drivers side of te veichle my other half was driving took the most impact, yet on the other carr, it is the whole of the front. I also have a picture of tyre marks that show where we started pullin gover before the collision.

There was anoter person in the veichle with my other half who is unsure if the other car didn't actually accelerate rather than brake, and my other half isn't convinced the other car applied teh brake until after impact.

So. Our insurance wants us to pay the £400 excess on our policy to fight for us, we will get it back if the other bloke is found to be at fault.

Can I process the claim myself through his insurance to avoid the excess? £400 is a lot just before Christmas. Its bound to be long and drawn out and I probably won't get it back for ages.

As we were driving on 3rd part F and F, i know our insurance won't pay out on the veichle of my dads, but as we feel strongly the other driver is to blame for going too fast for the conditions and not giving way, I don't see why it should cost me £400. We are already replacing my Dads veichle out of our own pocket initially so would like something back.

When I rang the other drivers insurance they said as it was head in there was no obvious liability too.

Sorry if it doesnt make sense.

Any help greatfully recieved.

<![CDATA[What does 'Protected No Claim Bonus' mean?]]> I had 10 years 'protected no claim bonus' on my car insurance last year. But during the year I had 2 fault accidents (both claims settled). When I received my insurance renewal notice this year the premium quoted was £1200 (last year £250) with the No Claim Bonus down to 0 years!

Is this right? I was under the impression that 2 fault accidents are allowed in a 3 year period before losing the NCD. Please advise?
