Savings number is wrong

I have both positive and negative movements of my savings, i.e. when i make a saving and when I use from my saings. IN the analysis overview, you are summing the ABSOLUTE savings number which obviously doesnt take into account the positive and negative movements.

Am I doing something wrong or is this a bug???

    Hi,

The behaviour we are catering for with savings is one where a user would mark x amount as 'savings' each month.

The analysis is simply to provide a view of how much, each month, a user sets aside as 'savings.'

On this basis it is not likely that the negative payments from your savings account will be reconciled in the savings figure in the analysis section. However, I will double check this on my own account to make double sure.

It was our initial intention that from understanding where your money was going each month that it would be easy enough for a user to arrive at a realistic and accurate 'savings' figure each month.

The overall balance taken from all your accounts (visible on the dashboard) is a better indication of exactly where you are in terms of money in the bank.

    I hope this makes sense,

    Kind regards,

    Carl

This point still stands. A 'saving' coming out from one account (negative) should not be summed to a positive on another account (the saving coming in to the savings account).

For example, currently if you move £1,000 as 'savings' from one account to another, on the transactions tab you can clearly see £1k going OUT and £1k going IN to another account. However, in the Dashboard, under expenses it will show £2k OUTgoing for savings, which is obviouslty incorrect.

    Hi there,

I will look into this bug for you with our tech team and if the bug appears, a fix should appear in version 2 of MoneyTrack, which will hopefully be released soon.

    Best regards,

    Scott
