Unable to create and save budgets

Hi there, I've just started using the service and think it shows a lot of promise. Last week I spent a good couple of hours tagging all my transactions and setting up budgets.

However when I logged into the service today, all my budgets were gone, and I am unable to create them again. The dialogue box says I have no budgets saved, and every time I try to save one, nothing happens.

This is infuriating, and it's one of the main reasons to use the site, to track expenditure against what I have budgeted.

I am using Firefox 3.6.9 with Flash 10.1 on an iMac.

    Hi there.

    Sorry for the inconvenience. Budgets actually clear at the end of your financial month. So, check the date you have set as your financial month. You can do this via 'set month start date' on the dashboard.

    Pehaps try this first to see if this was the problem, then, we'll tackle the next part of the problem. However, simply logging-out and back in may solve the 'setting up' of budgets issue.

    Having said all of that, I have just tried to add a budget myself and it is not sticking either. So, in teh meantime I'll raise it with the technical team.

    Hi thanks for getting back to me.

    Do you mean to say that budgets have to be re-entered every month? That seems a bit daft! Surely they should be ongoing, just the spending reset every month?

    I have tried playing around with the start date. It didn't seem to make any difference, and I haven't been using the service for a whole month yet, I only signed up a couple of weeks ago.

    Happens to me too.

    I can add a figure to create a budget in a specific category but it will not save.

    Logging out and back in again makes no difference.

    I also use a mac, and the latest Safari browser.

    Hi I just spend last week setting up a budget and categorising and now its all gone and I cant retrieve it. How do I get it back?

    Hi, has anything moved on this yet? I really do think that being able to save a budget month on month is key a function, not only because it takes so long to set one up in the first place but because surely imposing discipline on ongoing spending is what budgeting is all about? Love the service overall, but wish this could be addressed. Many thanks!

    We've actually fixed budgets are now rolling over to the following month... You can test it in your account, it should be working fine.

    Log in and see if you have any budget set up. If you ever set up a budget before, it should be there.
