Performance is very slow

I am finding the site useful to check my overall finances, but the performance is very slow, sometimes unusable. I realise there is a lot of processing going on to collate the information from different accounts, categories etc, but traditional desktop programs (like MS Money) managed OK. The site is good, but the performance means I struggle to use it to its full potential. Is anything being done to improve the speed?

Yes, we are planning certain work that will improve the speed of the service. At the monet we have some other operational and development priorities on the site. But, we do aim to improve performance over time. Kind regards, Carl

Come on, the site is more or less unusable at half past midnight. That's unacceptable in a modern web app. Fire up some more images - you are fully scaleable??

Yes, performance is very slow, making it frustrating to use. I will persist because I like the concept of the website but I would encourage you to prioritise performance improvements.

Definitely too slow when using the dashboard page. When it is generating the pie charts, there is nothing else you can do either. ie: I clicked the feedback link but I had to wait for the pie-chart to render before it took me to the page which is about 20-30 seconds.

It's getting silly now. I just signed in and hit the button to refresh all my accounts. I got timed out by the system before the updates were completed!

Is anything actually being done about this, LoveMoney folks?

Hi everyone, apologies for the delays you are experiencing. Behind the scenes performance is a priority, and as such, we are chipping away at the issues with every release.

However, there are a number of external systems that are involved in the process of updating accounts, namely the banking institutions, and these are out of our control.

Performance has been slow for over 6months now?

I think if you can't solve it in that amount of time it is either impossible or you really don't plan to fix it...

Time to look for alternative services.. sorry

Sorry to hear you are leaving, as I have said we are working on the speed issues but the external issues are delaying us.

Would you like us to delete your account entirely on all our systems?

    Best regards, Charlie

Hi. I've only signed up today but am finding it nearly impossible to update the categories of transactions. Multiple transactions are still spinning after ten to fifteen minutes with at least half a dozen having timed out with the 'can't update your transaction - sorry' message.

I've got to say that given the last message was in Feb and we're now in July it looks like an issue which just isn't going to be or can't be fixed and frankly makes the system unusable! I've used good old, steam powered MS Money for years and, whilst I like the idea of a web system, is just far more 'fit for purpose' given the speed.

    Hi crostonnick,

Sorry for the problems you are experiencing. We have actually been releasing lots of performance enhancements recently, which I have posted about on the main product blog.

In your case clearly there is something amiss, if you could drop a line to trackerfeedback@lovemoney.com we will investigate further.

    Best regards,

    Charlie
