Barclay's & Goldfish.

Having had my EARNED Goldfish points 'Confiscated' by Barclays when they took over the 'Goldfish Credit Card' I would FAR SOONER Deal with 'Del Boy & Rodney' than [Knowing] have ANY Dealings with Barclays.

They got 'Lucky' following events in America, But steer clear of Barclays in ALL it's Guises [At Least as a Client.]

A good product but you can't transfer cash into your current account

The Barclaycard Platinum was easy to apply for and I was instantly approved -- so that was nice.

The card offers a solid balance transfer deal (and several more, slightly less good deals, subsequently) but the annoying bit is that you can't get the balance transfer cash put into your current account -- which you can do with Virgin.

However, unlike Virgin, Barclaycard does allow you to set up a monthly direct debit for any amount you like (as long as it is at least the minimum; Virgin's d/d is only the minimum) so you can pay your balance off sooner.

All in, a solid product (and a good-looking card in my wallet, if I'm honest!).

I'm OUT

I was an accidental user of this 'product' and I have bailed out. I had a very good Morgan Stanley card which had very good customer service, suspicious transactions were picked up by them and I was notified by phone. Cashback was paid annually by cheque. Barclaycard took over the business and everything changed, they decided that cashback would be applied as a discount monthly which made accounting difficult as I used the card for business with direct payment from the company. Customer service was an absolute nightmare with them calling incessently on a mobile phone the number of which I never gave them. When I suffered fraud and contacted them the first result was that I lost my on-line access to be able to monitor the flow of fraudulent charges and it took 3 months of dealing with morons in an indian call centre to get sorted out.

Staggeringly unsatisfactory customer support and all round a BAD thing.
