Welcome to this week’s edition of Frugal Food. Let’s kick things off straight away with the best grocery deals around.
Best supermarket deals
This week, I’m going to start with the latest Dine In deal from Marks & Spencer. As usual, you can pick up mains, side dishes and desserts for two - plus a bottle of wine - for £10.
The offer runs from now until 21st September; and you can view the full menu here.
At Sainsbury’s, bags of dessert pears and dessert apples are both half-price. 500g packs of Pilgrims Choice mature cheddar are down from £4.98 to £2.49 each; and eight-packs of Butcher’s Choice sausages are also 50% off, at 99p.
570g squeezy bottles of Heinz tomato ketchup are still half-price, at 99p. And finally, there’s 50% off twin packs of McVitie’s jaffa cakes, which means you get 24 cakes for 85p.
Over at ASDA, a range of Loaded pizzas are reduced from £1.82 to £1 each. And there’s a much-better-than-half-price deal on pear slices: 1kg jars are currently down from £1.71 to just 50p each.
Also at ASDA, some good deals for those preparing early for Christmas! Terry’s chocolate oranges are down from £1.98 to £1, and tins of Cadbury’s Roses and Mars Celebrations are two for £10.
Tesco deals include bags of pears down from £1.75 to 80p, and a 2 for 1 offer on several varieties of Muller Fruit and Crunch Corners.
There’s also a 2 for 1 Tesco deal on many types of Loyd Grossman pasta sauce.
At Morrisons there are 2 for 1 deals on 750g boxes of Shreddies and 200g jars of Maxwell House.
Four-packs of Tropicana Kids juice are half-price, at 99p; and 500ml tubs of Haagen Daaz are still half-price, down from £3.99 to £1.99.
Over at the Co-op, there are some great deals on chocolates: For one week only, 1kg tins of Quality Street, 975g tins of Roses and 855g tins of Celebrations are just £4.75 each.
And 650g boxes of Thorntons Moments are down to £4.75, reduced from £11.
At LIDL, 1l of Tropicana orange juice is now £1.25, reduced from £1.96. Six-packs of McCoy’s crisps are 79p, down from £1.50, and individual Muller Rice, Fruit Corners and Crunch Corners are 25p, down from 52p.
NETTO top offers include two tubes of Pringles for £1.90, 20 packs of Walkers crisps for £1.90, and eight-packs of Kellogg’s Variety cereals for 85p.
And finally, new ALDI Super 6 fruit and veg deals include eight kiwi fruit, six red apples, three mixed peppers or six conference pears - all for 69p each.
Tipple
You can now get a free Jack Daniels drink (25ml spirit plus mixer) at your nearest Pitcher & Piano when you register here and print the voucher.
The offer runs every day until 5th October, and you can choose from JD and Ginger, JD and Cola or JD and Apple Jack.
Tesco is currently running an offer on John Smith’s Extra Smooth, which means you get 30 440ml cans for £16 (usual price £12 for 15 cans).
And The Co-op is still running its wine festival, with 50% off certain red, white and rose wines.
You can still pick up a free J2O drink at Toby Carvery with your evening meal, as long as you’re each paying £7.50 or more. Just print off this voucher and present it on arrival.
The voucher is valid Monday to Saturday after 7pm, until 25th September.
And finally, get a free bottle of WKD when you buy another at a Yate’s pub. Just sign up here, and present the voucher at your local branch.

Cut price snacks
If you’re a Telegraph reader, you can currently bag a voucher for a free box of Duchy Originals Chocolate Thins from Waitrose.
Buy the newspaper this Saturday (18th September) and you’ll find the voucher inside.
Take it into your nearest Waitrose and you can exchange it for any 120g box of milk chocolate, dark chocolate, dark chocolate mint or milk chocolate orange Thins (usual price £4.99).
Just remember that the voucher is only valid until 19th September.
Voucher codes
You can still get £10 off your first online grocery shop with Tesco when you enter the code XXAFFT at the checkout.
You’ll need to spend at least £50 to qualify for the discount (not including delivery charges) and have your shopping delivered before or on 30th September.

Using the JustEat website, you enter your postcode, find the takeaways near you, and choose one you fancy.
You then take a look at the menu and all the available offers, place your order and get the 4% cashback. Simple!
