Welcome to this week’s edition of Frugal Food. Let’s kick things off straight away with the best grocery deals around.
Best supermarket deals
This week, I’m going to start with the top deals at Tesco. Black seedless grapes are half-price at £1.62 per 650g; and 150g punnets of blackberries are still down from £2.99 to £1 each.
There are 2 for 1 deals on Clover, Muller Fruit Corners, and Frijj milkshakes. This 3kg bag of pasta shells has been reduced from £4.66 to just £2; and finally, there’s a 2 for 1 deal on 200g jars of Kenco Rappor coffee.
Over at ASDA, various lunchbox favourites are reduced: Eight-packs of Muller Fruit Corner Snack Size are down from £2.70 to £1; and eight-packs of Cheestring Twisters are down from £2.47 to £1 each.
Wall’s Carte D’Or ice cream and Goodfella’s pizzas are both still half-price. Terry’s Chocolate Oranges have been reduced from £1.98 to £1 each - and packs of Tetley’s tea (containing 240 bags) are down from £5.28 to £2.64 each.
Sainsbury’s top deals include half-price white seedless grapes, Pilgrims Choice mature cheddar and Boursin. A range of Pizza Express pizzas are also 50% off.
Also at Sainsbury’s, 570g squeezy bottles of Heinz Tomato Ketchup are down from £1.99 to 99p.
At Morrisons, there’s a 2 for 1 deal on multi-packs of Coke, meaning you can get 16 cans for £3.50. And 500g tubs of Haagen Daaz are half-price, at £1.99 each.
LIDL top offers include 1kg bags of carrots for 29p, whole corn on the cobs for 19p each, fresh figs at 19p each, and 1.5kg bags of new potatoes for 59p.
And finally, NETTO is selling 230g bars of Cadbury’s Dairy Milk and Cadbury’s Fruit & Nut for just £1.19 each. You can also pick up nine Rocky bars for 49p, six-packs of various Muller yoghurts for £1.90, and rump roast at only £1.99 per kg.
Tipple
The Co-op is currently running a wine festival, with 50% off certain red, white and rose wines.
At Tesco, you can now pick up two, 12-can cases of Magners Irish cider for £16 (usual price £12 each).
And there’s still a big sale on at Tesco Wine, within 50% off many cases.
You can still pick up a free J2O drink at Toby Carvery with your evening meal, as long as you’re each paying £7.50 or more. Just print off this voucher and present it on arrival.
The voucher is valid Monday to Saturday after 7pm, until 25th September. Just be aware it can’t be used on bank holiday Monday (30th August).
And finally, get a free bottle of WKD when you buy another at a Yate’s pub. Just sign up here, and present the voucher at your local branch.

Cut price snacks
Act quickly and you can bag some free food from Greggs. Get the Daily Mirror on Friday 10th or Saturday 11th September, and you’ll find a Greggs voucher inside entitling you to a free Greggs snack.
Friday’s freebie is a pizza slice, and Saturday’s is a sausage, bean and cheese melt. Remember you can only redeem each voucher on the day it’s printed.
Voucher codes
You can now get £15 off your first wine and champagne order at Tesco Wine when you spend at least £60 and enter the code XXVNM7 at the check-out.
The offer expires on 13th September, and the code can only be used on the Tesco Wine website (not in-store or via the Tesco Groceries website).
