Welcome to this week's edition of Frugal Food. We’ve got new and extended restaurant deals from Zizzi, All Bar One, Pizza Express and Domino’s. We also have cut-price alcopops and mixers,2 4 1 on chocolate muffins, free Coke glasses with your food, half-price chocs, and blackberry recipes galore!

Welcome to this week’s edition of Frugal Food. Let’s kick things off straight away with the best grocery deals around.
Best supermarket deals
The week, I’m going to start with the best deals at Sainsbury’s. 200g of lychees are now half-price, down from £2.49 to £1.24 a pack. And there are 2 for 1 deals on British diced pork leg and Carte D’Or ice cream.
Several varieties of Heinz mayonnaise and Kraft salad dressing are currently half-price. And finally, there are 2 for 1 deals on many crisp multi-packs, including Walkers variety packs.
At ASDA, 300g tubs of Philadelphia are reduced from £1.97 to £1. There’s still a better-than-half-price deal on HP brown sauce: 425g bottles are usually £1.58 each, but you can currently get two for £1.50.
And 300g jars of Nescafe Original are down from £6.38 to just £4 each.
Over at Tesco, there’s a 2 for 1 deal on double chocolate muffins, which means you can get eight muffins for £1.49. There’s also a 2 for 1 deal on Pilgrims Choice cheddar, and a good deal on Activia yoghurts which means you get 16 pots for £3.
Also at Tesco, you can still get 20 Young’s fish fingers for £1.99 (usual price £3.99).
Top deals at Morrisons include a 2 for 1 offer on all own-brand Italian ready meals, and a better-than-half-price deal on Goodfella’s deep pizzas (down from £2.49 to £1 each).
The Co-op has a better-than-half-price deal on Lake District mature cheddar (400g), down from £4.05 to £2. And a 2 for 1 deal on Fox’s Crunch Creams means each pack costs 50p.
At LIDL, you can pick up 250g of fresh spinach for 49p, 1kg of nectarines for £1, and 1l of Robinsons squash for 50p.
Over at ALDI, you can still get 125g of blueberries for 69p.
And finally, NETTO deals include Muller Light 12-packs for £2, four-packs of Cadbury’s Double Deckers/Flakes/Dairy Milk/Crunchie/Caramel for just £1, Colliers Wheat Biscuits breakfast cereal for only 49p, and (for the brave) Doner Kebab Pot Noodles for 39p each.
Tipple
At Sainsbury’s, you can currently pick up 24 275ml bottles of Smirnoff Ice for £18.
And if it’s mixers you’re after, check out the Red Bull deal currently on at Tesco: You can now get eight 250ml cans for £5 (down from £7.99).
There are still lots of free drinks available at the moment, if you know where to look.
First, you can collect one of four different drinks when you become a friend of your favourite Vintage Inn and buy any main meal before 31st August. You can see the four drinks on offer - along with all the terms and conditions - right here.
You can also get a free Pimm’s at Miller and Carter steakhouse bar and grill when you sign up, print the voucher and bring it in before 5th September. Again, you need to buy a main meal to qualify.
You can bag a free drink at your nearest Pitcher & Piano when you register here and print the voucher. The offer is valid until 31st August, on certain drinks only (the details of which you’ll find on the voucher).
And finally, get a free bottle of WKD when you buy another at a Yate’s pub. Just sign up here, and present the voucher at your local branch.

Cut price snacks
You can now pick up a free Coke glass when you buy a Large Meal or Premium Salad at McDonald’s.
You can check out the details - and the limited edition ‘Summer Splash’ glasses - right here. They come in six colours, and are available from now until 30th August.
There are currently loads of chocolates marked at half-price in the Thorntons website factory clearance section. Treats include chocolate smothered vanilla fudge (down from £1.89 to 94p), milk, dark and white classics (reduced from £6.50 to £3.25), and champagne truffles (down from £10.49 to £5.25).
Finally, if you’re willing to jump through a few hoops, you can still bag a 2 for 1 sandwich deal at Greggs.
You have to ‘like’ the bakery on their Facebook page. Then you fill in your details on page you land on, and if 100,000 ‘likes’ are reached by 6th September, each Facebook fan will be emailed a special 2 for 1 sandwich voucher.
Voucher codes
New online shoppers at Tesco can still get £10 off when they spend at least £50 and enter the code XXAFFT at the checkout.
Just remember that delivery has to occur on or before 30th September. You can find out more about the offer here.
