Welcome to this week's edition of Frugal Food. We’ve got new and extended restaurant deals from Caffe Uno, Giraffe, ASK, Prezzo, STRADA and Brasserie Gerard. We also have FOUR different free drinks for you to grab, half price pizza, strawberries for £1, half price Haribo, a new Graze deal, two new supermarket voucher codes, and some grow-your-own bargains!

Welcome to this week’s edition of Frugal Food. Let’s kick things off straight away with the best grocery deals around.

Best supermarket deals 

This week, I’m going to start with the best deals at Tesco. You can now pick up 225g of blueberries for £1.50, down from £3.99. And there’s still a 2 for 1 deal on various varieties of Petits Filous fromage frais.

There are also 2 for 1 deals on Daddies brown sauce, 12-packs of Hula-Hoops, and six-packs of McCoys crisps.

Over at ASDA, there’s a 2 for 1 offer on a range of McVitie’s cakes. Certain varieties of Haagen Dazs are still £2 (down from £3.97); and 400g jars of Nutella have been reduced from £1.78 to £1.

A range of Haribo sweets are half-price, down from £1 to 50p a pack. And finally, 1l bottles of Ribena are better-than-half-price, reduced from £2.76 to £1 each.

At Sainsbury’s there’s currently a half-price deal on several varieties of Pizza Express pizza. And this summer fruit trifle is also half-price, down from £2 to £1.

Over at Morrisons, you can now pick up this £4 picnic meal deal, perfect for a frugal trip to the park or beach.

There’s also a better-than-half-price deal on Morrisons medium sliced white bread, which means it’s 30p a loaf instead of the usual 74p. And there’s a 2 for 1 deal on Richmond thick sausages, making 16 sausages just £1.97.

At the Co-op you can still get one-third off a range of Italian food.

And at LIDL, you can pick up 400g of strawberries for £1, 1l bottles of Robinsons fruit squash for 50p, 80 Ty-phoo tea bags for £1, and 12 Muller yoghurts for just £2.88.

NETTO top deals include 500g tubs of I Can’t Believe It’s Not Butter for 59p, tubes of Pringles for £1 each, and certain varieties of Ben & Jerry’s (500g) for £2.49.

And finally, at ALDI you can now pick up eight kiwi fruit, 125g of blueberries or 1.5kg of new potatoes for just 69p each.

Tipple

There are lots of free drinks available at the moment, if you know where to look.

First, you can collect one of four different drinks when you become a friend of your favourite Vintage Inn and buy any main meal before 31st August. You can see the four drinks on offer - along with all the terms and conditions - right here.

You can also get a free Pimm’s at Miller and Carter steakhouse bar and grill when you sign up, print the voucher and bring it in before 5th September. Again, you need to buy a main meal to qualify.

You can bag a free drink at your nearest Pitcher & Piano when you register here and print the voucher. The offer is valid until 31st August, on certain drinks only (the details of which you’ll find on the voucher).

And finally, get a free bottle of WKD when you buy another at a Yate’s pub. Just sign up here, and present the voucher at your local branch.

Cut price snacks

You can now get your first nibbles box from Graze for free - plus £1 cashback - when you go via Quidco. As usual, just make sure you read all terms and conditions carefully.

If you’re willing to jump through a few hoops, you can still bag a 2 for 1 sandwich deal at Greggs.

You have to ‘like’ the bakery on their Facebook page and then fill in your details on page you land on. If 100,000 ‘likes’ are reached by 6th September, each Facebook fan will be emailed a special 2 for 1 sandwich voucher.

You can still treat yourself on the cheap at Millie’s Cookies when you sign up to join the club here. You’ll be able to print off a voucher booklet worth £15 with offers including buy six cookies get six free, buy one get one free on treatboxes and two free cookies with any ice cream. The vouchers are valid until 31st October.

And you can still get a free cup of coffee at Giraffe just for turning up! Pop in to your nearest Giraffe on a Wednesday before 10.30am, and claim your free Americano, latte, cappuccino or herbal tea. This offer now runs until 29th September. Just remember that it’s only valid on classic-size, takeaway drinks, and is not valid at restaurants in airports. 

Voucher codes

First-time online grocery shoppers with ASDA can now get £10 off when they enter the code M3TNYAF4 at the check-out.

Just bear in mind that you need to spend at least £45 to get the discount, and your shopping must be delivered before 10pm on 8th August – so get in quick! The code only applies to customers registered with ASDA online after 2nd August.

New customers can get £10 off their first online grocery shop at Sainsbury’s when they enter the code HRVY-RK92-6Z5K at the check-out.

In this case you’ll need to spend at least £50 to qualify, and get your shopping delivered before 10th August.

Finally, new online shoppers at Tesco can still get £10 off when they spend at least £50 and enter the code XXAFFT at the checkout.

Just remember that delivery has to occur on or before 30th September. You can find out more about the offer here.
