Welcome to this week’s edition of Frugal Food. Let’s kick things off straight away with the best grocery deals around.
Best supermarket deals
This week, I’m going to start with the new ‘Dine In’ deal from Marks & Spencer. As usual, you can get mains, sides and desserts for two - plus a bottle of wine - for £10.
This latest offer runs from now until 15th June, and you can view the full menu here.
Over at Tesco there are lots of half-price deals on fruit and veg. For example, bags of cherries are reduced from £4.98 to £2.49; extra-large pineapples are down from £2 to £1 each; and new season strawberries are reduced from £3.99 to £1.99 per 400g.
Bags of spinach are down from £1.40 to 70p; and there’s a better-than-half-price deal on raspberries: 225g boxes are usually £3.99, but you can currently pick up two for £3.50.
In the Tesco dairy section, there are 2 for 1 offers on Seriously Strong Cheddar and Muller Fruit Corners; and these Shape Zero yoghurts are half price.
And if you fancy a treat, Terry’s Chocolate Oranges are currently half price too, at just £1 each.
At ASDA, a range of Goodfella’s pizzas are half price.
Sainsbury’s deals include 500g of Pilgrims Choice mature cheddar (down from £4.98 to £2.49) and 2kg of beef roasting joint (reduced from £17.98 to £8.98).
Also at Sainsbury’s, this 3kg boneless gammon joint is just a third of the normal price, at £11.97. And 500ml tubs of Haagen Dazs are currently down from £3.99 to £1.99 each. Yum!
Finally, boxes of 36 McVitie’s Jaffa Cakes are half price, at £1.44 each.
Morrisons is offering a Big Match meal deal, for those who want to watch the football. You can get 12 burgers, 12 buns, tortillas, dips and a bottle of Pepsi for £5. The offer is set to end on June 13th.
At ALDI, the latest Super 6 fruit and veg deals include three-packs of lemons, whole cucumbers, six-packs of tomatoes, and whole pointed/savoy/green cabbages - all for just 39p each.
Over at LIDL, you can pick up 250g of cherry plum tomatoes for 50p, 250g bags of spinach for 50p, 150g of blackberries for 99p, and Goodfella’s pizzas for just £1 each.
And finally at NETTO, top deals include tubes of Pringles at just 79p each, and 21-packs of Walkers Variety crisps for just £2.
There are sometimes much better deals on offer at street markets and independent shops than there are at the supermarkets. Unfortunately, their local nature makes it impossible for us to cover them properly here.

Tipple
The World Cup is about to start, and there are some great beer offers at Sainsbury’s. For example, you can pick up 24 cans of Carlsberg for £10 (usual price £18.20) or 24 cans of Foster’s for £10 (usual price £19.89).
However, you’ll have to be quick, as both these deals end on 12th June.
At Morrisons, there’s a good ‘three for £18’ offer on a range of beer. For example, you can get 36 bottles of Beck’s; or 36 cans of Carling; for £18.
At Marks & Spencer, you can currently get 25% off South African wine bought online (excluding Wine Club).
And (also online), Marks is currently selling Balfour Brut Sparkling Rosé 2005 at half its normal price.

Cut price snacks
If you’re a Daily Mirror reader, you should be able to grab a free snack from Greggs this weekend. This Friday’s edition of the paper (11th June) carries a voucher for a small white loaf from Greggs; and the Saturday edition (12th June) includes a voucher for a Belgian bun.
Just turn up at Greggs with your voucher to claim your free food. Remember that each voucher can only be used on the day it’s printed.
You can still get a free cup of coffee at Giraffe just for turning up! Pop in to your nearest Giraffe on a Wednesday before 10.30am, and claim your free Americano, latte, cappuccino or herbal tea.
The offer is only valid on Wednesdays before 10.30am, and runs until 16th June. Just remember that it’s only valid on classic-size, takeaway drinks, and is not valid at restaurants in airports.
Voucher codes
A while ago, we told you about Approved Food. In a nutshell, this online retailer sells short-dated and clearance food and drink at bargain prices.
At the moment, you can get 10% off your shop at Approved Food when you enter the code MSE10 at the check-out. The code is valid until 15th June.
You can still get £10 off your first online grocery shop at Tesco when you enter the code XXAFFT at the checkout.
You’ll need to spend at least £50 to quality for the discount, and the code is valid on deliveries made before 30th September. It isn’t valid on certain items, including tobacco products, prescription medication and baby milk.
You can also get £10 off your Ocado bill when you use the code VOU9206024 at the checkout. Bear in mind you’ll need to book your delivery slot first, which has to be before 30th June.
