This week we bring you new and extended restaurant deals from Café Rouge, Prezzo, Burger King, Zizzi, All Bar One, Harvester and Wannaburger.

Welcome to this week’s edition of Frugal food. Let’s kick things off straight away with the best grocery deals around.

Best supermarket deals

This week, I’m going to start with the top deals at ALDI. As part of its Super 6 range, you can now pick up five lemons, 500g of red grapes, six green apples and 1.5kg of new potatoes - all for just 69p each.

Over at LIDL, you can pick up 400g packs of Cathedral City mature cheddar for £1.93 each (down from £3.86), and avocados for 29p each (reduced from 59p).

And NETTO deals include 100g jars of Kenco coffee for £2, four Shape yoghurts for 79p, and 500g tubs of Utterly Butterly reduced from £1.14 to only 50p.

Top offers at Tesco include this 2 for 1 deal on chocolate chip muffins, which means you get eight muffins for £1.29. You can also pick up seven pears for 70p (down from £1.60), and 2.5kg of baking potatoes for 95p (down from £1.90).

At ASDA, you can now get Goodfella’s Deep Margherita pizzas (410g) for 97p each, reduced from £1.52. And there’s a great deal on instant coffee, with 200g jars of Nescafe Gold Blend down from £5 to £3.

Sainsbury’s best deals include this hot chocolate fudge cake, reduced from £5.99 to £2.99. Fresh rhubarb is also half-price, at £1.64 for 400g.

The deal on Muller Fruit Corner yoghurts is still running: six-packs are down from £2.97 to £1.48. Lamb chops (677g) are down from £10 to £5; and boxes of Sainsbury’s Fair Trade Red Label tea (160 bags) are reduced from £2.91 to £1.45, making each tea bag less than 1 penny.

Also at Sainsbury’s, there’s a 2 for 1 deal on cans of Coca Cola, which means you get 12 cans for £2.85.

And finally - at Morrisons, 500g tubs of Flora Buttery are down from £1.50 to 70p. And there’s a still a half-price offer on 570g bottles of Heinz tomato ketchup, making them £1.

There are sometimes much better deals on offer at street markets and independent shops than there are at the supermarkets. Unfortunately, their local nature makes it impossible for us to cover them properly here.

This one is for Londoners only I’m afraid. If you’re planning a day out in the capital, check out the range of free champagne offers currently available on the Afternoon Tea website.

For example, book afternoon tea for two at The Cadogan hotel and get one tea for half price, plus a free glass of Champagne each. That's a total cost of £33.75 for Champagne Afternoon Tea for two.

Morrisons is also doing a good deal on Budweiser: You can now pick up 20 300ml bottles for just £10, reduced from £15.46. Just remember it’s a maximum of three cases per customer.

Cut price snacks

This next deal is about cosmetics really, but is a good food-related deal nonetheless. Buy two 500ml bottles of Diet Coke in-store at Boots (totaling £2.36), and you can claim a free bottle of Nails Inc polish (which usually retails at around £10).

The offer runs until the end of June and is subject to availability. The nail polish colours to choose from include deep pink, bright red, nude and purple (with posher names!).

You can still pick up a freshly made Sub Roll for just £1 at Greggs when you register here and print the voucher. The offer now runs until 9th May.

Finally, you can still get a free cup of coffee at Giraffe just for turning up! Pop in to your nearest Giraffe on a Wednesday before 10.30am, and claim your free Americano, latte, cappuccino or herbal tea.

The offer is only valid on Wednesdays before 10.30am, and runs until 16th June. Just remember that it’s only valid on classic-size, takeaway drinks, and is not valid at restaurants in airports.

Voucher codes

You can currently maximise the benefit of two supermarket discount codes by shopping via Quidco.

First, you can get £10 off your first online grocery shop at Sainsbury’s when you enter the code TFF6-4M9P-JHCT at the check-out.

And you can get £1 Quidco cashback for each Sainsbury’s grocery order placed. Just remember that the code is only valid on transactions over £50, and expires on 12th May. You can find out more about the deal here.

Second, new online grocery shoppers at Tesco can get £10 off when they enter the code XXAFFT at the check-out.

You’ll also get a bumper £5 Quidco cashback for your first order. Again, the code is only valid on transactions over £50. It expires on 30th June, and you can find out more about it here.
