This week we bring you new 2 for 1 restaurant deals from iL BERTORELLI and ha ha. There’s also a special Dine In Marks & Spencer offer for Mother's Day, free coffee, 99p food bargains, £1 bottles of bubbly and the chance to pick up Cadbury’s Creme Eggs for just 23p each!

Welcome to this week’s edition of Frugal Food. Let’s kick things off straight away with the best grocery deals around.

Best supermarket deals

This week, I’m going to start with a ‘Dine In’ deal with a difference from Marks & Spencer.

From now until Sunday 14th March, you can pick up a four-person Mother’s Day special offer: You’ll get a roast joint, a large side dish, dessert for four and a bottle of wine - all for £15. You can view the full menu here.

Next up, here are the best deals currently on offer at Sainsbury’s. There are still good 2 for 1 deals on various cookie bags and Muller Fruit Corner multipacks.

Over at the meat counter, this beef roasting joint and these lamb chops have both been reduced to half-price. And there’s a 2 for 1 deal on multi-packs of Coke, which means you can currently get 12 cans for £2.85.

At ASDA, there’s still a better-than-half-price deal on a range of Homepride sauces. And there’s also one on Heinz salad cream; 460g bottles usually cost £2.07, but you can currently pick up two for £2.

Over at Tesco, 12-packs of Cadbury’s Creme Eggs are selling at just £2.74, down from £5.49. You’d better move quickly though, because this deal only lasts until 16th March.

Other good offers at Tesco include nine-packs of kiwi fruit (reduced from £1.49 to 74p); and the continuing 2 for 1 deal on Activia multipacks.

Finally, the Tesco Easter egg deal is still on, with several varieties reduced from £2 to just 97p.

Good deals at Morrisons include boxes of Cadbury’s Roses reduced from £3.99 to £1.96, and four pots of Muller Rice for just £1.

At Somerfield/The Co-operative, boxes of Thorntons Milk Chocolate Collection are now £3.50, reduced from £7.

And finally, ALDI Super Six fruit and veg deals include 500g broccoli, 350g mushrooms, six-packs of kiwi fruit and six-packs of green apples - all for 49p each.

There are sometimes much better deals on offer at street markets and independent shops than there are at the supermarkets. Unfortunately, their local nature makes it impossible for us to cover them properly here.

At Morrisons there’s a special Mother’s Day offer on bubbly: Bottles of Champagne Veuve Deloynes Rose have been reduced from 28.99 to just £9.99.

The offer is only available until 14th March, and customers can buy a maximum of three bottles each.

At ALDI, you can currently pick up 8 x 440ml cans of draught Guinness for just £6.99.

And for the slightly less discerning drinker, there’s a bottle of Chaumet Brut Premium Sparkling Perry at LIDL for just £1!

Best restaurant deals

As always, new and extended deals appear at the top of the table.

Cut price snacks

You can currently get a free cup of coffee at Giraffe just for turning up! Pop in to your nearest Giraffe on a Wednesday before 10.30am, and claim your free Americano, latte, cappuccino or herbal tea.

The offer is only valid on Wednesdays before 10.30am, and runs until 16th June. Just remember that it’s only valid on classic-size, takeaway drinks, and is not valid at restaurants in airports.

Voucher codes

You can still get £10 off your first online shop at Tesco when you enter the code XXAFFT at the checkout.

You’ll need to spend at least £50 to qualify for the discount; and the code is not valid on the delivery charge, cigarettes, baby milk or prescription medications.

And finally… the 99p trolley dash

A few months ago, I said a sad goodbye to the Woolies in my local high street… then glared suspiciously at the 99p Store that took its place.

However, this success of the recession has come up trumps for me a few times now, so I thought I’d point out some of the food bargains that are currently on offer there.

At the moment, for example, you could pick up this box of Tetley tea bags, this bottle of Bertolli olive oil, this jar of coffee, or these four cans of Irn Bru - all for 99p each.

However, the best offers don’t stay on the shelves for long - so if you see a good deal in your local branch, you’d better grab it on the spot!
