Welcome to this week's edition of Frugal food. Let's kick things off straight away with the best grocery deals around.
Best supermarket deals
This week, I'm going to start by telling you about the new 'Dine in for £10' deal at Marks & Spencer. The offer runs from now until Sunday (30th January) and allows you to choose mains, side dishes and desserts for two people, plus a bottle of wine.
You can have a look at all the menu options here.
At Tesco, top deals include Cathedral City mature cheddar (400g) reduced from £3.88 to £1.94, and six-packs of Muller Rice reduced from £2.93 to £1.46.
You can also pick up 20 Young's fish fingers for £1.99 (down from £3.99); and there are still good 2 for 1 deals on Bitesize Shredded Wheat, Shreddies and Cheerios.
Over at ASDA, you can currently get 12 Muller Fruit Corner yoghurts for £3. And Peperami fans can enjoy five for just £1 - reduced from £2.35. Finally, 100g Toblerones are still reduced from £1.09 to 50p.
Sainsbury's deals include 2 for 1 offers on several varieties of Frijj milkshakes (you can now get two 500ml bottles for £1). There is also a 2 for 1 deal on fresh chicken thighs and drumsticks; and packs of Butcher's Choice sausages are still down from £1.99 to 99p per pack.
Finally, jars of Ragu sauce and bottles of Amoy soy sauce are both half their normal price.
At Morrisons, good 'Essentials for less' deals include half-price bacon (16 rashers for £1.75) and half-price Heinz ketchup (now 55p for 342g bottles).
Somerfield/The Co-operative is running its own condiment promotion: 700g bottles of Heinz ketchup are now £1 (reduced from £2.16); and 450g bottles of HP sauce are also £1 (down from £2.15).
And finally, top deals at LIDL include 10p limes and 29p avocados.
There are sometimes much better deals on offer at street markets and independent shops than there are at the supermarkets. Unfortunately, their local nature makes it impossible for us to cover them properly here.
If you've come across a great food deal at your local market, please do leave a comment at the bottom of the article letting us know. That way, fellow readers in your local area can take advantage of the offer you've flagged up. Thanks!Tipple
This week, Rachel Robson rounded up the best tipple deals out there in her article Brilliant booze bargains!

As always, the new and extended deals appear at the top of the table.

Voucher codes
You can currently get up to 15% off your first shop with Ocado when you use the voucher code VOU8742840 at the checkout. Just bear in mind that you'll need to spend at least £60 to qualify for the offer, and you'll get a maximum of £15 off.
You can now get £50 of free shopping with organic retailers Abel & Cole, using the code JANUARYSUB50 at checkout. However, this offer is open to new customers only, and you'll need to have your first delivery by 12th February. You also need to order at least four consecutive weekly deliveries, including a fruit and veg box set up as 'every week' delivery.
What's more, each delivery must be over £15 (excluding the 99p delivery charge). You can only get one £50 credit per household, and this credit needs to be spent at Abel & Cole before 6th March.
On another organic note, you can also still get 15% off your shopping at Planet Organic.
Enter the code PLANET when checking out to get your discount. The offer runs until 30th April, and remember that delivery will cost £4.95 if your order is worth less than £30.
Voucher code promotions tend to be withdrawn quickly. If you've missed out on this one, you can use the following websites to track down new voucher codes as and when they come up:
And finally... more short-dated shopping bargains!
In this edition of Frugal food, I told you about Approved Food. This is an online store that specialises in selling short-dated or out-of-date 'best before' dry and tinned food products at bargain basement prices.
I've now come across another store - Food Bargains - which operates in a similar way. And, like Approved Food, it allows you to search by food category, making things pretty easy to find.
Current bargains include ten-packs of Hula Hoops for 99p, two litres of orangeade for 15p and six boxes of wheat-free crackers for £1!
Just bear in mind that delivery charges do apply (starting at £4.99 for deliveries under 29kg) so if you're sure you can get through all your purchases, it's better to buy in bulk.
