Best supermarket deals

This week, I'm going to start with the best deals at ASDA. In the dairy aisle, Kerry Low Low mature cheddar (200g) is less than half-price, down from £2.05 to £1. And there's a great deal on a range of Goodfella's pizzas: They're all less than half-price, with several varieties reduced from £2.48 to just £1.

There's still a good offer running on Patak's cooking sauces (500g): Each jar usually costs £1.57, but you can currently pick up two for just £1.50.

Other top deals at ASDA include Fox's Classic bars (seven-packs usually cost £1.14, but you can currently get two for £1) and 100g Toblerone bars, which are down from £1.09 to just 50p

At Sainsbury's there are some good deals on fresh fruit, including boxes of apricots  reduced from £3.99 to £1.49 and bags of Braeburn apples reduced from £1.99 to 99p.

And several items in the meat and fish section are currently 50% off: 677g of lamb chops are down from £10 to £5; 651g of chicken breast fillets are reduced from £6.98 to £3.48; and 240g of large king prawns are £2.99, down from £5.99.

Tesco is still selling white seedless grapes (650g) at £1.29, down from £2.91. Other good deals include 400g packs of Cathedral City mature cheddar, which are reduced from £3.88 to £1.94.

At Tesco you can also pick up two bottles of Filippo Berio extra virgin olive oil for the price of one: 500ml usually costs £3.99, but you can currently buy two bottles for £4.

Over at Morrisons, boxes of Special K have been reduced from £2.89 to £1.39.

At Somerfield, you can get over 50% off Typhoo tea bags (750g) - boxes are now £2, reduced from £4.56. And there's still a good deal on I Can't Believe It's Not Butter - 500g tubs are just 48p, reduced from £1.20.

Finally, Marks & Spencer has launched another Dine in for £10 meal deal for this weekend. As usual you'll get mains, side dishes and desserts for two - plus a bottle of wine.

The offer runs from now until Sunday (17th January) and you can view the full menu here

There are sometimes much better deals on offer at street markets and independent shops than there are at the supermarkets. Unfortunately, their local nature makes it impossible for us to cover them properly here.

If you've come across a great food deal at your local market, please do leave a comment at the bottom of the article letting us know. That way, fellow readers in your local area can take advantage of the offer you've flagged up. Thanks!

Wine lovers should check out the latest offer from P&O Ferries: For £19, you can now buy a return ticket (for a car and up to nine people) for a day trip from Dover to Calais. And as part of the deal, you'll be able to claim a FREE case of Ernest & Julio Gallo Winemakers Seal wine (red or white).

You'll need to collect your six free bottles of wine on your outward journey, from your ferry's onboard shop.

The offer is valid for travel between now and 25th March (excluding 12th, 13th, 20th and 21st February). However,  you'll need to book before 10th February to get the deal; and this offer is only available online.

As usual, make sure you read all the terms and conditions carefully, as some restrictions apply. You can find out more about the offer on this page of the P&O Ferries website.

You can currently get 15% off your shopping at organic food enthusiasts Planet Organic

Each voucher will be valid until the following Friday, and it's a maximum of one voucher per transaction. As usual, just make sure you read the terms and conditions carefully: There are certain products - including cigarettes and petrol - that the vouchers cannot buy.

Voucher code promotions tend to be withdrawn quickly. If you've missed out on this one, you can use the following websites to track down new voucher codes as and when they come up:

And finally... 50% off meals out!

This week's final tip is for Londoners only, I'm afraid: If you have a TasteLondon membership card, you could get 50% off meals out at up to 800 participating restaurants in the capital.

It costs £69.95 to be a member of TasteLondon for 12 months - so it's only something worth doing if you eat out regularly and are willing to do so at restaurants that are signed up to the deal.

If you are, you could make really substantial savings over the course of a year. You can find out more about how to use your membership card here

wally144, New York Bagels aren't bagels, they are circular processed bread and are foul at any price.
