Aldi 

This week’s Super 6 offer includes cucumber, pineapple, mango, a three-pack of garlic, an eight-pack of kiwi fruit and 250g Chestnut mushrooms – all for only 59p each. Offers end 23rd February

Asda

At Asda this week you can pick up two four-packs of Heinz baked beans for £3 (was £2 each), two packs of eight Wall’s Mini Twister ice lollies for £3 (was £2 each) and Kellogg's Optivita Berry Oat Crisp for £2.00 (was £2.78).

Coffee lovers are also in luck and can grab a Douwe Egberts Pure Gold refill for £3 (was £4.49), two pots of Carte Noire Coffee (100g) for £5 (was £3.64 each) and two packs of Carte Noire Instinct Wholebean Instant for £5 (was £4.98 each).

Several chocolate brands have also dropped their prices. You can pick up four-packs of Cadbury’s Twirl twin bars, Dairy Milk Caramel, Wispa, Ripple and Dairy Milk Fairtrade for £1. Bounty, Snickers, Mars and Galaxy Milk Chocolate bars are also included in the deal.

Lidl

This week at Lidl you can save 27% on a 1k bag of baby potatoes for 79p (was £1.09), 37% on a 1k family pack of tomatoes for £1 (was £1.59) and 33% on a bunch of spring onions for 39p (was 59p).

The price of Nescafe Gold Blend jars has also been cut to £4.99 (was £6.48) and two litre bottles of cider are 20p cheaper at £1.69.

There are also two for £3 offers on packs of 12 Scotch beef meatballs (was £1.69 each) and authentic Italian cooked meat selection packs (was £1.99 each).

Marks & Spencer

This weekend at Marks & Spencer there is a Valentine’s Day meal deal offer which runs until the 17th February. For £20 you can get a starter, main course, side dish, dessert, a bottle of wine and a box of chocolates. Dishes include tomato and Camembert tarts, prawns in garlic butter, beef wellington, Duck á l'Orange, strawberry and Champagne soufflé, praline Pyramids and raspberry pannacotta.

Morrisons

A great deal for meat lovers, Morrisons has cut the price of its fresh British sirloin steak to £8.50 per kg (was £17) and its British Pork Leg to £3.40 per kg (was £6.80) until the 17th Febuary.

Veg-wise, 1kg bags of carrots, 500g bag of baby new potatoes and 1kg pack of onions are all 50p each.

Until the 24th February you can also take advantage of the Valentine’s Day meal deal which includes one main meal, one side, one dessert and a bottle of wine all for £10.

Ocado

Breakfast treats are on offer this week at Ocado. Essential bagels are on a two for £2 deal (was £1.25), French butter croissants are two for £3 (was £1.79 each), and richly fruited hot cross buns are two for £1.80 (was £1.20 each).

Dried fruit and nuts have also been reduced. There is a buy two and save 20% offer on pine kernals, mixed nuts, pistachio kernels, dried cherries and mixed seeds.

Fish is also reduced with Young’s cod fish cakes on a two for £2.50 (was £2) deal, Ocado long-sliced salmon down to £4.33 (was £6.50) and smoked salmon packets on a two for £6 deal (was £3.99).

Sainsbury’s

Sainsbury’s is helping you break your New Year detox with lots of offers on sweet treats. McVitie’s Jaffa cake bars, Mr Kipling mini batternbergs and Sainsbury’s blueberry muffins are all on a BOGOF deal.

You can also pick up a six-pack of The Fabulous Bakin’ boys chocolate cupcakes for 75p (was £1.50), a loaf of McVitie’s Jamaica ginger cake for 60p (was 90p) or a pack of McVitie’s hobnobs for 55p (was £1.10).

More best buys of the week include; mango chutney from Sharwood’s for £1 (was £1.99), tikka masala sauce from Lloyd Grossman for £1 (was £2.09), two pots of honey and Dijon mustard sauce from Chicken Tonight for £2 (was £1.99 each) and tomato and red pepper pasta sauce from Napolina for £1 (was £2.05).

If you’ve given up chocolate for Lent, Tesco has kindly slashed prices in its fruit and vegetables range. You can pick up a pack of black seedless grapes for £1.94 (was £3.89), a pack of Whitworths dried mango for £1 (was £1.88), two packs of fresh and naked big mixed little leaves for £1 (was £1 each) and two packs of Jaffa oranges for £2.50 (was £2.10 each).

Meat is also discounted this week with two packs of pork shoulder steaks for £6 (was £4.89 each), a four-pack of chicken fillets for £4 (was £6), two packs of ribs for £5 (was £4.25 each) and a pack of jumbo pork sausages for £3.33 (was £5).

Waitrose

In the frozen food section, Waitrose has cut the price on frozen jumbo king prawns to £4.66 (was £6.99), Young’s battered calamari to £2.25 (was £3) and there’s a two for £6 offer on pots of Ben and Jerry’s cookie dough ice cream (was £4.49).

 Breakfast goodies are also on offer. Rude Health honey nut granola is £1.99 (was £2.99) and White’s organic jumbo porridge oats are £1.10 (was £1.65).

When it comes to BOGOF offers, you can grab two six-packs of Diet Coke for £3.36 each, two six-packs of Dr Pepper for £3.49, two Kenco Millicano refill packs for £3.29 and two six-pack of Bisto chicken melts for £1.99.

Westin Gourmet 

Consider buying your meat from online gourmet butcher Westin Gourmet.

Right now special offers include 20% off the following: a boneless pork loin for £20.20 (was £25.11), Lincolnshire sausages for £7.03 (was £8.74) and chicken breast fillets (5kg) for £26.10 (was £32.51).

These offers expire on 17th February.

Voucher codes and coupons 

Before you hit the supermarkets, check for any money-saving coupons:

  • Burgen bread is offering 30p off large loafs with a voucher which you can download from the website.
  • You can get 50p off your next purchase of Blue Dragon sweet chilli dipping sauce by filling in your details and printing off a voucher online.
  • Get 50p off a pack of Weight Watchers fromage frais or dessert of your choice by downloading a voucher from the website.

  • Twinings is giving away two free samples of its latest tea varieties, simply pick the one you want and it’ll be delivered in the post.
  • Hello Fresh is knocking 20% off the price of its classic and veggie boxes with the code aVC13s before 17th February.
  • You can also get a free two-month membership to the Gourmet Society dining card trial with the code trial_175 before 11th August.
  • For health fans, there’s 20% off at The Food Doctor with the code NYNY20.

Cheap tipples

At Waitrose Hardys Crest Cabernet Shiraz Merlot is now £5.49 (was £8.59) and bottles of Lavis Vigneti di Montagna Pinot Grigio are now £6.29 (was £9.49).

Asda also has deals on wine with a two for £7 deal on the following; Lindermans Cellar Selective Cabernet Sauvignon Merlot, Lindos Peak Merlot, Yellowwood Mountain Shiraz, Oak Leaf Grenache Rose and Yellowwood Mountain Chardonnay.

Wine bargains can also be had at Tesco where bottles of Dino Pinot Grigio, Isla Negra Reserve Sauvignon Blanc and Merlot are all half price at £4.99.

If you’re celebrating head to Sainsbury’s as it’s halved the price of Antoine Clevecy Champagne to £12 whereas Ocado has cut the price of its Duval-Leroy fleur de Champagne to £14.99 (was £29.99).
