This week's round-up of supermarket bargains, restaurant discount vouchers, freebies and more.

Welcome to this week's Frugal Food.

Aldi

This week’s Super 6 offer, ending on 13th October, has pineapples, six-packs of conference pears, Granny Smith apples and oranges, eight-packs of kiwis, and 500g of plums, all for a fantastic 69p each.

As well as the Super 6 they have consistently low prices across the store, with things like Ultimate pork & apple sausages for only £1.49 a pack, down from £1.99. They also have great offers on Everyday Essentials such as Bran flakes for 88p and a pack of unsmoked bacon for 79p.

Asda

Stock up on £1 items like these Nestle Ski Low Fat Variety Fruits Yogurt (4x120g) reduced to £1 for four, two ASDA White Sandwich Baguettes for £1 or Fox's Chunkie Fruit & Nut Extremely Chocolatie Cookies (175g) for £1 (was £1.69)

There are some great reductions, like this Cathedral City Mature Cheddar (2x350g) reduced from £6.48 to £5, ASDA Chosen by You Lean Minced Beef Steak (454g) 50p off at £2.50 and Hellmann's Real Mayonnaise (800g) for £2 (was £3.19). Or get these Jamie Oliver Italian pork sausages – two packs for £4.50

Indulge in some chocolate treats at bargain prices, such as three boxes of Cadbury Milk Tray (400g) for £10 (normal price £7 a box!) or these Nestle Aero Bubbles Orange (113g) for £1 (was £1.60).

Lidl

You can’t buy online but you can still check their Special Offers page to see what discounts are in store before you set off! Offers at the moment include a pack of mixed peppers for 89p (was £1.39), red apples for £1 (was £1.59) and butternut squash for 69p (was £1.07) and a half price six-pack of Muller Corner yoghurts for only £1.50 (down from £3).

M&S

M&S has another Weekends In £10 meal deal this weekend, with mains including rotisserie chicken, ready to roast gammon with parsley sauce, and Gastropub moussaka.

Their Offers in Store include 25% off their seasonal menu and Modern Asian cuisine, two for £6 on healthy Fuller Longer meals, two for £6 Pie & Mash deals and two for £3 on selected vegetables. Stock up for Halloween with three-for-two on selected treats and get ahead of the game by buying your Christmas pudding and cake now with 1/3 off!

Morrisons

Take a look at Morrisons' Market Street deals on fruit and veg, and pick up lots of useful tips and recipes online at the same time. Deals include: a punnet of plums, bag of satsumas, five pack of conference pears, and a two pack of sweetcorn – all reduced from £2 to £1.

Take a look at fresh meat deals on Market Street too, such as half price on a fresh British pork loin joint, now only £4. Or go for fish with two Hand Made Coquilles St Jacques scallops topped with mashed potato, cheese sauce and mature Cheddar cheese, half price at £2.48

You can also stock up your cupboards with half-price Maxwell House Coffee Granules at £2.19, Heinz beans for £2 and Berio Extra Virgin at £2.49. Or stock your fridge with a twinpack of Lake District Mature White cheese for only £2.50.  

When you next spend £40 in Morrisons you will get a £5 voucher to spend on your next shop of £40 or over. You must get the voucher by 14th October and redeem it by 21st October.

Ocado

Ocado has three-for-twos on Mr Kipling cakes, including Bakewell tarts, Battenburg and jam tarts.

There are also two for £2.50 offers on Young's fish cakes and Aunt Bessie's crinkle cut chips, and half-price on Houghton Hams' Northamptonshire ham (now £1.39, was £2.79), Young's smoked salmon slices (now £5, was £10), Birds Eye breaded chicken (now £1.72, was £3.45) and 300g tubs of Philadelphia Light (now £1.20, was £2.40).

First time Ocado shoppers can use VOU1304996 for £10 off first orders over £50 (expires 31st Dec).

Sainsbury's

Somewhat disturbingly they have Christmas food already on the shelves, and at a discount! If you can’t wait to tuck into the mince pies you can get a six-pack of Sainsbury's Deep Mince Pies reduced from £1.65 to only £1. Alternatively if you are on a bit of a health kick try Steve's Leaves Pea Shoots & Baby Leaves (60g) for only 65p down from £1.30.

Other offers include £6 or 2 pack of Sainsbury's Breaded Ham (18 per pack - 320g) (normally £4 each) or these Sainsbury's Freedom Food Duck Legs (430g) for £2.50, down from £3.50.

If you don’t fancy duck for dinner grab this Sainsbury's Traditionally Reared British Whole Lamb Leg (Approx 1.93Kg) currently reduced from £21.21 to £14.13 or go for a fish option with these Sainsbury's Large King Prawns (180g), only £3 instead of £5.99.

Team this bargain on rice, Tilda Pure Basmati Rice (1Kg) down from £4.96 to £3, with a jar of Sharwood’s sauce, such as Sharwood's Green Label Smooth Mango Chutney (360g), reduced from £1.99 to £1.

Even though it’s getting cold, kids will still love these Robinsons Fruit Shoot Orange & Blackcurrant Ice Lollies (6x80ml)  down from £2.49 to £1.24. Alternatively warm them up with this Sainsbury's Chocolate Sponge Pudding (130g) for only £1, or three for the price of two!

Tesco

Let’s start with something nice, seeing as winter is coming! Cheer yourself up with these Gü Chocolate Praline Mini Puds (3x45g) for only £2, down from £2.39. Then you can eat a few of these Tesco Black Seedless Grapes Loose Class 1 (Approx 650g) to make yourself feel a bit more healthy – a bargain at £1.95 (down from £3.90).

Other offers include Plusfood Alyn Valley Chicken Breast Fillets (600g) for only £3, reduced from £6.59, Napolina Extra Virgin Olive Oil (1L) now £3.24 (was £6.49), Tesco Finest Exquisa Potatoes (1Kg) down from £2 to only £1 or Tesco Supersweet Sweet Corn (2) also half price at £1.

Get a convenient and healthy ready meal with Innocent Vegetable Pot Bombay Butternut Squash Curry (380g) only £1.89 (was £3.79).

Lastly, grab a box of Cadbury Milk Tray (400g) assorted milk chocolates (always useful as a last minute gift) for the bargain price of £3.75, down from £7.50.

Waitrose

Waitrose do a lovely range of ready meals and side dishes, and there are reductions on some of them at the moment, so stock up! 

Try Waitrose Pancetta, Parmesan & Spinach Risotto (400g) reduced from £3.99 to £2.66, or Waitrose Creamy Fish Pie (750g) for two people, reduced from £6.99 to £4.66. Team them with a side dish such as Waitrose Cauliflower Cheese (450g) only £1.66 (was £2.49) or be healthier (and cheaper!) with some Waitrose Ready Trimmed Tenderstem Broccoli (80g) for only 99p (or three packs for £2.50).

Finish the meal with these Waitrose Fresh Figs (4) only £1.49 (was £2.99) or a more indulgent Waitrose Seriously Fruity Apple Tart (530g) reduced from £4.99 to £3.32.

Westin Gourmet

Consider buying your meat from online gourmet butcher Westin Gourmet. There are some fantastic deals and offers to be had, like these two FREE Aberdeen Angus steaks for new customers spending over £20.

There are also special offers such as 10 gourmet chicken drumsticks for £8.82, normally £10.09 or 18 Lincolnshire sausages for £6.63, normally £7.78. These offers expire on Monday.

Before you hit the supermarkets, check for any money-saving coupons:

• Get 50p off Saint Agur cheese using this printable coupon.
• 50p off Rachel’s Goosebury yoghurt with this coupon.
• For the kids, claim your voucher for 50p off Annabel Karmel purees, available at Tesco or Sainsburys.
• There is 20p off Campbells Soup when you sign up to receive vouchers.
• Save 30p on a loaf of Burgen Bread with this coupon.
• Like Vimto’s Facebook page for 50p off a bottle of the fruity drink.

• Hotel Chocolat is offering 10% off when you use code VCXB10. Hurry – offer ends on 14th October.
• If you are in the market for tea, visit Twinings Teashop to get 20% off when spending £30 or more using code: AFF01204. If you don’t fancy spending £30 odd quid on tea, you can still get a 10% discount when you spend £15 or more with code AFF01009
• To get money off at Whittard of Chelsea use code: WELCOME10 which will get you 10% off your first order until 30th October.

Cheap tipples

Supermarkets have some great reductions on wine, such as this Montana Brancott Estate Pinot Noir South Island 2011 (750ml) from Asda, reduced from £10.98 to £6.98. Don’t make the mistake of thinking Aldi wines won’t be up to much! This great Italian Castellore Montepulciano is only £3.59 and is a fantastic red!

If you’re having a party and are in the market for champagne you could do worse than order this case of Comte De Noiron NV Champagne  on special offer from Marks & Spencer down from £180 to £90 which works out at only £15 per bottle. Or, try this bottle of Etienne Dumont Brut NV Champagne (750ml) from Sainsbury's, which you can get at a great reduction – down from £31.99 to £12.00 – until 16th October.
