Best supermarket deals 

This week we’re going to kick off with the latest Dine in for Two for £10 offer at Marks & Spencer. Available mains include paella, lasagna, plaice fillets and, from The Cook Menu range, Spanish beef parcels, mushroom risotto, haddock gratin and tomato & mozzarella tart.

You can get the usual plonk, Gascogne, Razo de la Cruz and Cotes du Rhone and for dessert, look out for apple & blackberry pie, panna cotta with black cherry and cherry frangipane slices. See the full menu here. The Dine in for Two offer is valid until Tuesday 1st November.

Asda has some of the best deals for Halloween bargain hunters this week. First of all, the infamous Terry’s Chocolate Orange Milk for £1.50, pumpkins are only £1 each, toffee apples are 3 for £1 (over at Tesco the toffee apples are 50p) and for trick or treatsters loads of sweets have been reduced including Rowntree’s bags (including Rowntree’s Jelly Aliens) from £1.52 to 75p, Maynards bags from £1.48 to 74p, Fruit-tella bags from £1 to 50p and my personal favourite, The Natural Confectionary Co bags from £1 to 74p.

For other snacks, Phileas Fogg share bags have 85p off (now £1) and McCoys 6-packs have 70p off (now £1). If you aren’t worried you’ll eat them all too quickly, you’ll get more bang for your buck with the bigger 15-pack McCoys selection and McVitie’s Mini Cheddars 18 packs which are both £2 each (was £3.98).

Over at Tesco you can still save a packet on grown-up Halloween treats including this big box of Fox’s Wonders biscuits, reduced from £10 to £5, 3 for 2 on 100g bars of Green & Black’s (usually £2.06 each), Tesco Finest 100g bars for £1 (was £1.11), Toblerone for £2 (was £4) and Mrs Crimble’s macaroons for £1 (was £1.10).

For old school savoury snacks, KP Space Raiders are reduced from £1.49 to £1 for 12 packs, Skips are reduced to £1 from £1.50 for 6 packs and Tesco bacon rashers are reduced from £1.30 to £1.09 for 6 packs (I tried these last week and can declare they are just as tasty as Frazzles to me – if you have any big brand swap tips share them below!).

Heading to Sainsbury’s it’s 3 for 2 on Pot Noodles, usually £1 each (they are on offer at 2 for £1.50 at Tesco), 2 for £1.80 on Carr’s Table Water Biscuits, usually £1.19 each and 2 for £3 on Dairylea Triangles (16 pack), usually £1.89 each. PG Tips are reduced from £2.69 to £2, it’s 2 for 1 on Cox’s apples (usually £2 each), Sainsbury’s Smoky BBQ Fajita Kits are reduced from £1.99 to £1.32 and it’s 6 for £4 on Heinz 400g tins of soup, usually 85p each.

And, if you want to get a practice round in for the Christmas dinner, you can buy bread sauce mix for 23p (was 36p), beef roasting joints are reduced from £8.09 to £6.48 (for approx 810g), 560g boneless lamb legs have £1 off at £6.50 and West Country corn fed whole chicken is £4.74 (was £5.93).

This week, the four half-price weekend deals at LIDL are; fresh diced chicken breast (375g) for £1.49, 1kg of baby potatoes for 49p, bags of Smarties/Kit Kat minis for £1.34 and Vitafit Multivitamin juice for 49p. Available this Saturday and Sunday only.

Other LIDL bargains include 1kg of onions for 49p, 8 funsize pears for 79p, 400g of Pilgrims mature cheddar for £2.99, whole large chickens (2.3kg) for £4.99, two pork shanks for £3.29, honeycure back bacon for £1.49, 8-packs of sausages for £1.19 and Lurpak spread for £2.25. 

Finally, check out the 5 special offers this week from online gourmet butcher Westin Gourmet, which includes 19% off English Blue Stilton (now £21.42 for a 2kk wheel), 20% off 100% British beef steak mince (now £6.34 for 1kg) and 18% off British Barnsley lamb chops (now £7.43 for two chops).

Tipple

Booze bargains at Sainsbury’s include 25% off Jacob’s Creek Reserve Chardonnay (now £7.49), 50% off Piccini Montepulciano Riserva d'Oc (now £5.49), 1 litre Baileys Biscotti for £14 (was £19.79), Jim Beam White Label for £14 (was £20.95) and, if you’re feeling the Christmas spirit early, it’s 2 for £7 on Sainsbury’s mulled wine!

For bargain spirits at Tesco, Jack Daniel’s whiskey is reduced from £21.47 to £14, Baileys original (1 litre) is a mere £9.85, Southern Comfort is reduced from £19.29 to £14 and Russian Standard Vodka is £12 (was £20.79).

You can still save 25% on selected award winning wines at Marks & Spencer such as Rioja Valdepomares 2009 (now £29.20 for six bottles) and Classic Claret 2009 (now £33.70 for six bottles).

And, courtesy of an exclusive code from Vouchercodes.co.uk, you can save £15 on orders over £49.99 at Laithwaites Wine using the code VCODE15, valid until 31st December.

Cut-price snacks

Facebook users can ‘Like’ the Warburton page for 30p off their next purchase of their bread or rolls. 

Over on Beforeishop, the latest vouchers will save you 50p on GLORIOUS! Soups and Pasta Sauces (ends 10th July 2012), 50p off Blue Dragon Curry Pastes (ends 31st January 2012), 50p off Blue Dragon Sauces (ends 31st December 2011).

And you can still get discounted Innocent veg pots here – the more people that tweet about #tweetandeat, the cheaper you all get them. Once it’s gone as cheap as it will go you can print the coupon (and whatever level it happens to be at) and head to a store.

Get in quick to use this coupon for 50p off little dish Chicken & Two Veg Pasta for children of 1 year+ at participating Tesco stores. Valid until 31st October 2011.

Time is also running out for Burger King vouchers saving you up to £20. There are BOGOF vouchers for Whoppers and Bacon Double Cheeseburgers, Chicken Tendercrisp and Chicken Royales, Wraps, Angus burgers, large King Nuggets and BK Fusions. Plus get a kid's meal for only £1.99 and free fries and drink with an adult burger. All vouchers are valid until 1st November.

Voucher codes

Place your first order at Abel and Cole and use the ongoing code VEGFREE to get your fourth box for free.

Over at Whittard get 20% off all coffee with the code 20COFFEE and at Birt and Tang, save 30% using the code green which expires 15th November.

Ongoing codes at Hotel Chocolat will save you 10% on orders over £20 – use this voucher on any day of the week until 31st December. Or if you prefer Thorntons you get a free Mint Selection (250g) worth £6.99 when you spend £20, (excluding delivery and icing) using the Vouchercodes.co.uk code FMVC which is also valid until the end of the year – note you will need to add the free product to your basket (product code 0239).

There is also the code XXCATS1 saving new customers £10 when they spend £50 on groceries at Tesco but remember that certain items - including wine by the case, tobacco, infant milk formulae and prescription medicines - are not eligible for the discount. Valid until 30th November.

You can get your mitts on a free M&S e-voucher worth £5 when you order your Christmas food from Marks & Spencer early.

You need to place an order of at least £60 online before 13th November and they will send you the voucher before 30th November to use in store or online. The way it works is that you can select your collection store, date and time, add your chosen items to the basket and pay your deposit (of £20) now then collect for free at your chosen store, on your chosen date nearer to Christmas.
