Welcome to this week's edition of Frugal Food. We’ve got new and extended restaurant deals from Bella Italia, Pizza Express, Strada, Ask, Caffe Uno and Henry’s Café Bar. Plus, save 20% on spirits at Sainsbury’s, save 30% on Spanish and Portuguese wine, enjoy 2 for 1 pizzas at Dominos, get £10 off at Pizza Hut Delivery, save 25% for Whittard’s 125th birthday and win an all expenses trip to New York as the New York Bakery Co’s Head of Taste!

Best supermarket deals

This week we’re going to kick off with the best deals at Sainsbury’s which include 2 for 1 broad beans and garden peas (500g) which are only £3 each. Sainsbury's Taste the Difference golden kiwis are now only £1.50 (was £1.75), super sweet pineapples are £1 (was £2) and Taste the Difference pears are reduced from £2.49 to £1.66.

It’s also 2 for £6 on deli meats including Sainsbury’s Taste the Difference 24-month Parma ham (£3.89 each) and Sainsbury’s chargrilled chicken slices (£3.89 each) and 2 for £5 on Pizza Express pizzas, saving you £3 - choose from Original American, Margherita, Pollo Pesto and Sloppy Giuseppe.

Get your greens on the cheap at Tesco with 2 for 1 deals on various vegetables including spring onions (84p), whole cucumber (80p) and crisp continental lettuce (£1). Tesco Oak Smoked Scottish Salmon Slices (100g) have been reduced from £3.89 to £3 and 942g of Tesco carvery lamb leg with garlic and rosemary is reduced from £10 to £8.

At ASDA, five packs of Rowntree’s Fruit Pastilles (£1.74) and Fruit Gums (£1.48) are on offer at 2 for £2, or if you prefer some choc, you can get the same deal on Nestle Milkybars and Aero Bar Peppermints (£1.89 each). You can also save 40p on Nutella, now only £1, buy Knorr stock pots for £1.50 (was £1.91) and get a 800g pack of Coco Pops for £3, saving you 69p.

ASDA Extra Special Stonebaked slow roasted cherry tomato and mozzarella pizza is reduced from £3.48 to £2 and you can buy Giovanni Rana Tortelloni (250g) for £1, saving you 68p – choose from Ricotta & Spinach or Rich Italian Beef Bolognese.

Current deals at NETTO include packs of Nestle KitKat and Blue Riband (nine bars) for £1, saving you up to 65p and a box of Ferrero Rocher for £1.99 (contains 16). It’s also BOGOF on cherry vine tomatoes (only £1), 2 for £2 on 2.5kg bags of new potatoes (down from £1.49 each) and this weekend only, buy one Ben & Jerry’s Strawberry Cheesecake or Chunky Monkey for £4.29 and get two tubs free!

Then from Monday look out for 2 for £2 on peppers (three per pack) which are usually £1.49 each, 2 for £3.50 on chicken drumsticks and thighs (usually £2 each) and Weetos with 60% extra for free for only £2.19.

Price crunches at Morrisons mean you can get 12 own-brand sausages for £2 (90p off), 2 for 1 on 4-packs of burger buns with sesame seeds (65p each), 2 for £4 on various cereals including Corn Flakes, Coco Pops, Bran Flakes and Crunchy Nut (usually cost from £2.38 to £2.99).

Market Street deals include half-price cherries, now £6.49 per kg, BOGOF on Lyons Large King Prawns, £3 each, half-price rhubarb, now £1.74for 450g and fresh king scallops reduced from £19.99 to £17.99 per kg.

Finally, LIDL is offering red peppers for 50p each (saving you 29p) and cos lettuce for 59p each (saving you 40p). At the weekend you can also grab a 500g pack of lean steak mince half-price at £1.49 and a 300g pack of cherry vine tomatoes which are also half-price at 69p.

Tipple

At the Co-op, grab Bulmers original and pear cider bottles for only £1, buy two four-packs of Carling lager cans for £6 and get a third off various whiskies including Glenfiddich 12 year old malt whisky (was £30.85, now £20.56) and Glenlivet 12 year old malt whisky (was £30.99, now £20.66).

You can also save 20% on spirits such as Absolut Pear Vodka, reduced from £16.99 to £13.59, and Jack Daniels, reduced from £21.46 to £17.16. The offer is available in-store and online at Sainsbury’s until 14th June with a maximum of 6 bottles allowed per customer.

New at Marks and Spencer this week, buy two cases of Spanish or Portuguese wine and save 30% and save a third on the June Mixed Case, now only £50 for 12 bottles.  

Finally, over at Majestic Wine you can still get £5 off Veuve Clicquot NV Champagne, now £29, or £4 off when you buy two bottles of Torres Viña Sol 2010 Catalunya, reduced to £4.99 per bottle, and you can still get 20% off when you buy any two bottles of Beaujolais, Chilean wine, Australian wine, Italian wine and New Zealand wine.

Cut price snacks

It’s 2 for 1 on medium and large pizzas when you order online at Dominos. This offer is up for grabs every day until midnight Sunday 5th June.

And, you can still get Burger King vouchers for BOGOF deals on Whoppers, Chicken Tenderstrip, Angus, Sweet Chilli Chicken Wrap and BK Fusions. Plus, there are vouchers entitling you to a £1.99 kid’s meal, or a sausage, egg and cheese butty for only 99p, and free fries with a drink when you purchase any adult burger. Most of the vouchers are valid until 19th June 2011 and at participating restaurants only and may not be valid at some motorway locations.

Voucher codes

Celebrating 125 years, get 25% off all orders at Whittard using the code WHB125.

For supermarket savings, there’s a new Ocado code this week – you can already get £15 off your first shop when you spend at least £75 using the code VOU1146975, valid until 30th November – but now if you only spend £40 you can save 20% with the code VOU9940010, valid until 30th June.

There are various Pizza Hut codes to enjoy this week; use VCHTENPHY for £10 off a £25 order, VCHDELPPU for BOGOF on pizzas and VCHFIFTBK for 50% off when you spend more than £30 – all valid until 26th June.

Other ongoing pizza codes include 25% off when you spend £25 at Papa Johns with PJES25OFF, also for the weekends only (Friday to Sunday), buy an XL pizza and get a free side order with code AAPJWTPXS and if it’s your first order, you can save 33% with code AALDN33.

Or get 25% off when you spend £25 or more at Dominos Pizza with code RBRKEDUN until 30th June. The code NUSEXTRA also works for the same deal.
