Welcome to this week's edition of Frugal Food. We’ve got new and extended restaurant deals from Café Rouge, GBK, Ask, Pizza Express, Pizza Hut, Dominos and La Tasca. Plus Dine in for Two for £10 at M&S this weekend, grab a half-price bottle of champagne for £10 at Sainsbury’s, a kilo of chocolates at Thorntons for £15, down from £30, and get a free £10 voucher for Westin Gourmet!

Best supermarket deals
This week, we’re going to kick off with Marks & Spencer and the latest Dine in for Two for £10 offer. This time, mains include mussels in garlic, stilton and mushroom risotto, salmon marinated with soy and ginger, plus The Grill hot and spicy Sirloin steak or glazed rump steak. For dessert there’s strawberrry jelly trifle, lemon soufflés, sarte au citron slices and apple & blackberry pie. Offer valid until Tuesday 3rd May.
Next up are the best deals at NETTO; you can buy a 12-pack of Wall’s cocktail sausage rolls for just £1 – working out to 9p per sausage! It’s also BOGOF on Pork Farms Snack Mini Pork Pies (4 per pack) and Big Hit Pepperami Mini Sausage Rolls, plus Bowyers Snack Eggs (you can mix and match with any of these which all cost £1.49 each).
And, this bank holiday weekend only (including today and Monday) packs of sirloin steak are reduced from £3 to £2.49. It’s also BOGOF on Young’s scampi (only £3) and a 9-pack of Kit Kats is only 89p, down from £1.65.
Don’t miss half-price weekend offers at LIDL either – on Saturday and Sunday only buy loose red peppers for only 34p, fresh bags of rocket for 49p, 400g of pork belly ribs for £1.24 and a four-pack of Branston baked beans for £1.
Another great LIDL buy is 1kg of British chicken breast fillets or 2 British beef Ribeye steaks for £5.99 each. Plus, buy a bunch of spring onions for only 39p, 6 salad tomatoes for 59p and an 800g pack of beef mince for £1.99!
You can get your Royal Wedding street party off to a flying start at Sainsbury’s with 2 for £2.50 on Anchor aerosal cream (usually £1.48 each) and either Gü Chocolate & Pecan Brownie Pud which is £3, down from £4, or Gü Chocolate Fondant Torte, which also has £1 off at £2.99.
For something savoury, it’s 2 for 1 on Sainsbury’s Ardennes pate or smooth Brussels pate (£1.35 each) and 2 for £6 on Taste the Difference Parma Antipasto platters, which are usually £3.99 each.
Over at Aldi, special offers to keep an eye out for are pork fillet at £5.99 per kg, organic seeds (such as pumpkin seeds, sesame seeds and sunflower seeds) for 99p, gourmet egg pasta for £1.39 and jars of chutney, perfect for a picnic, for 99p. Otherwise, the super 6 this week are packs of baby plum/cherry tomatoes, oranges, salad potatoes, kiwi fruit, funsize apples and a pineapple, all for 69p each.
ASDA’s best buys this week are 2 for £4 on Jamie Oliver sausages (usually £2.93 each), any 3 for £3 on own-brand kiddies cereal – there are lots to choose from including Golden Balls, Choco Hoops, Choco Snaps and Honey Hoops and these cost up to £1.51 so you could save yourself £1.53.
If you’re planning a spot of baking this weekend, Asda’s cake sprinkles and decorations are on a 2 for £4 offer. Options include chocolate curl sprinkles, micro mallow sprinkles and of course, good old hundreds and thousands!
Top Tesco deals include a four-can pack of Princes tuna chunks in brine for only £3, down from £5.39, 2 for £3 on various Lurpack tubs and Westaways honey roast pork sausages for £1.99 (six per pack), down from £2.48.
In the freezer section, various 500ml tubs of Haagen-Dazs are reduced to £2.07 (was £4.15) and smaller tubs of Nestle ice-cream Potz are reduced from £1.39 to just £1 – choose from Toffee Crisp, Smarties and Rolo.
Tipple
Treat yourself to a bottle of Etienne Dumont Brut NV Champagne for only £10 at Sainsbury’s, reduced from £29.99. Or you can still buy Duval-Leroy Premier Cru at
Duval-Leroy Premier Cru at Waitrose for half-price at £14.99.
Marks & Spencer is getting in on the wine deals too – you can save 25% when you buy 2 cases on all wine including Belle Tour Cabernet Sauvignon 2009 which is on special offer at £29.94, down from £41.94.
At Morrisons it’s 3 for £5 on bottles of Kopparberg cider (usually £2.09 each) and 2 for £7 on four-packs of Scrumpy Jack (usually £4.05 each).
Finally, you still have time to enter your postcode here on the Marstons Taverns website for a free Pimm's & lemonade or Gordon's Gin & tonic to celebrate the Royal Wedding. Redeem your free drink anytime before 11th May.

Cut price snacks
At Thorntons get your mitts on 1kg of chocolates for just £15, reduced from £30! This End of Season Bundle has a best before end date of May 2011 so you’ll need to eat quickly if you want them at their best, but that shouldn’t be too difficult should it?!
At WHSmith stores you get vouchers entitling you to a £1.99 McDonalds meal with any purchase. These vouchers are only available until Sunday 1st May but they are valid until the end of May so find your nearest WHSmith store here.
Voucher codes
You can still save 25% and get free delivery at Whittard with the code WC24P which expires 30th May. This code works on any order so make the most of orders such as 3 for 2 on instant teas and hot chocolates.
There’s an ongoing code for new Ocado customers to get £15 off their first shop when they spend at least £75. Use the code VOU1146975 at the checkout.
Tesco has extended its offer for £10 off your first online grocery shop. To get the discount, you’ll need to spend at least £50 and enter the code XXAFFT at the checkout, for delivery made before 31st May. Just bear in mind that certain items - including wine by the case, tobacco, infant milk formulae and prescription medicines - are not eligible for the discount.
