Welcome to this week's edition of Frugal Food. We’ve got new and extended restaurant deals from Slug and Lettuce, Giraffe, Pizza Express, Ask and Café Rouge. We’ve also got pancake day offers at Asda, a roast meal deal for £5 at M&S, 25% off wine at Morrissons, 10% off posh chocs, best-before bargains at Approvedfood.co.uk and the latest food freebies!

Best supermarket deals
This week, we’re going to kick off with some offers from ASDA. Just in time for pancake day next week, you can buy 18 Asda own-brand free range eggs for the price of 12 (only £2.87), plus grab Jif lemon juice, Lyles golden syrup and Ruf pancake mix on a 2 for £1 offer.
Sticking with Asda, Kellogg's Crunchy Nut Clusters are reduced to £2, saving you 60p a pack and various Wyke Farm’s cheddars are 2 for £5, whilst at LIDL, Pilgrims Choice Extra Mature Cheddar has £1 off at £2.99.
Lidl is also selling sweet potatoes at 79p per kg, down from £1.18 per kg, as well as a 1kg bag of Granny Smith apples for 99p (40p off) and a 250g pack of spinach for 69p (30p off).
Sainsbury’s has 2 for 1 offers on various cake treats such as McVities Golden Syrup cake and Jamaica Ginger cake (£1.45 each), Gu Chocolate & Vanilla Cheesecakes, Chocolate Melting Puds, Hot Chocolate Souffles and Chocolate Banoffee desserts, which are all £3.29 each.
Stay put if you want to stock up on berries too – punnets of raspberries, cherries, blackberries and blueberries are on offer at 2 for £4 – and pizza fans can buy 2 Pizza Express pizzas for £5 (they are currently 2 for £6 in Tesco).
There are more 2 for 1 bargains at Tesco on Dairylea Dunkers (£2.18 each), Activia Bio yoghurt 8-packs (£2.95 each) and four-can packs of Princes Tuna Chunks, in sunflower oil or brine (£5.39 each).
The latest half-price deals at Morrisons include breakfast favourites such as Cheerios (now £1.38), a 500g tub of I Can’t Believe It’s Not Butter (now 62p) and a litre of Robinsons Squash (now 50p). Or, grab BOGOF 14-pack bags of Walker’s Monster Munch for £2.99 each at NETTO and an impressive 5kg bag of potatoes on a 2 for £3 offer.
At Marks & Spencer, look out for a roast meal deal for two which includes a ready-to-roast joint, a root veg pack, a green veg pack, plus potatoes – all for only £5 – and if you’ve got a sweet tooth, grab 2 Percy Pigs packets for £2!
Finally, at the Co-op, buy two 100g bars of their own Fairtrade chocolate bars for £1.50 (normally 95p each), two packs of Fairtrade 80s teabags for £2.50 (normally £1.60 each) and two 227g bags of Co-op Fairtrade Roast & Ground Coffee Original for £3 (normally £2.25 each).
Tipple
There’s a French and Italian special at Marks & Spencer saving you 25% when you buy two cases – see the Italian selection here and the French selection here.
Save £6 when you buy two cases containing 12 x 500ml bottles of selected beers, ales and bitters at Majestic Wine, including Shepherd Neame Spitfire (normally £19.80 each, but £33.60 for two), Black Sheep Ale (normally £21.60 each, but £37.20 for two).
At Morrisons buy any three bottles of Morrisons own-brand ‘irresistible reds’ and knock off 25%, or get your fix at Virgin Wines where you can save over £50 on a Bonza Aussie Reds Case which has been reduced from £140.88 to £89.99. This case contains 12 bottles including two Albacore Coonawara McLaren Vale Shiraz 2008, two Bootstraps Barossa Valley Shiraz 2010 and two Icarus Labyrinth Clare Valley Shiraz 2010.
Lastly, this weekend only at LIDL Gaymers Orginal and Pear cider is reduced from £1.09 to 85p and four-packs of Tuborg are on offer at 2 for £5 (normally £3 each).

Head to the Greggs website where a handy £5 or a BOGOF voucher is up for grabs when you take part in the ‘breakfast hunt’. Whenever you see an alarm clock, click on it quickly to see if you have won a prize.
Get your first box free and your second box half price at Graze.com (normally £3.49 per box) which delivers health snacks straight to your home or office.
And, you can still get the latest set of Millie’s Cookies vouchers once you’ve registered here; offers include ‘buy six cookies, get six free’ and 2 for 1 deal on hot drinks.
Voucher codes
If you want to buy some sweet treats for Mother’s Day (3 April), use the code GAVMD-11 for 10% off at Chocolate Now, which expires 3rd April, or use the code SPRING8 for 8% off at The Chocolate Trading Co which expires 30th April.
New Ocado shoppers can save £15 when they spend at least £75 on their first shop. Simply register here, start shopping and then enter the code VOU1146975 at the checkout. This code expires 30th November 2011.
Tesco shoppers can still get £10 off their first grocery orders. To get the discount, you’ll need to spend at least £50 and enter the code XXAFFT at the checkout, for delivery made before 31st March. Just bear in mind that certain items - including wine by the case, tobacco, infant milk formulae and prescription medicines - are not eligible for the discount.
