Welcome to this week's edition of Frugal Food. We've got new and extended restaurant deals from La Tasca, Café Rouge, Bella Italia, Pizza Hut and Domino's Pizza. We've also got Valentine's `dine in' deals from Marks & Spencer, Waitrose, Tesco and Sainsbury's, 2 for 1 on Innocent veg pots, two for £2 on Appletiser, 50% off Italian ready meals, better-than-half-price chocolate offers, free pints, money off at Costa Coffee, and some great grow-your-own gardening deals!

Best supermarket deals

This week, I’m going to kick off with the latest Dine In deal from Marks & Spencer. As a special ‘gourmet’ Valentine’s deal, you can now get starters, mains, side dishes and desserts for two - plus a bottle of wine and a free box of chocolates - for £20.

Waitrose also has a good Valentine’s deal running: You’ll get sides, main courses and desserts for two - plus a bottle of Prosecco or a box of chocolates - for £15.

They’re running a very similar deal at Tesco. You can choose mains, sides and desserts for two - plus a bottle of wine - for £15.

Also at Tesco, there are 2 for 1 deals on Allinson wholemeal bread, The Lake District Cheese Co. cheese and Muller Fruit Corner multi-packs.

Our last Valentine’s meal deal is over at Sainsbury’s. Here you can pick up starters, mains, sides and desserts for two - plus a bottle of wine and a box of chocolates - for just £15.

This deal runs from now until 15th February, and you can find all the menu options here.

Other offers at Sainsbury’s include a 2 for 1 deal on Innocent veg pots, and 50% off Nestle Bitesize Shredded Wheat.

ASDA is still running a better-than-half-price deal on McVitie’s cakes. And there’s a great offer on Appletiser: 750ml bottles usually cost £2.57 each - but you can now get two for £2.

Over at The Co-op, 400g boxes of Cadbury Milk Tray are down from £7.30 to £3.50. (Read our Valentine’s Day chocolates taste test to find out if they’re any good!) You can also pick up 100g jars of Kenco Rappor coffee for £1.16 each, down from £2.32.

Morrisons Italian ready meals are half-price; and you can grab boxes of Thorntons Premium Collection chocolates for just £5, down from £11.99 (and they’re in our taste test too!)

At LIDL, top deals include 570g bottles of Heinz tomato ketchup for £1.25, and 20-packs of Walkers crisps for £1.99.

And finally, at NETTO you can pick up tubes of Pringles for £1 each, six Muller Light yoghurts for £1, 400g Toblerone bars for £2 each, and five tins of Torento chopped tomatoes for £1.

Cut price snacks

You can get £1 off your next drink at Costa Coffee. Visit your nearest branch, pick up a Cost Coffee Club card and register it online.

Your card will automatically be credited with 100 free points - the equivalent of £1.

Giraffe is currently running a promotion offering selected breakfast items - plus a hot drink - for £5. This is in-restaurant deal, and can be grabbed Monday to Friday before 11am, until 25th February.

Meals on offer include scrambled egg and chorizo on a toasted muffin, morning quesadilla, eggs, bacon and toast, organic porridge, or a breakfast bap with two fillings.

Voucher codes

Tesco shoppers can still get £10 off their first grocery orders. To get the discount, you’ll need to spend at least £50 and enter the code XXAFFT at the checkout.

The delivery need to be made before 31st March. Just bear in mind that certain items - including wine by the case, tobacco, infant milk formulae and prescription medicines - are not eligible for the discount.

February is an excellent month to start getting green-fingered. As the weather gets a bit warmer, we can start planting the seeds, plants and trees that should produce fresh fruit and vegetables later in the year.

And at the moment, ALDI has some great deals for grow-your-own enthusiasts on a tight budget.

For example, you could pick up an established, two year-old fruit tree for £3.99: There are 11 different varieties of apple, pear, cherry and plum to choose from.

Alternatively, these herb plug three-packs are currently on sale for just £1.99 each.
