Welcome to this week's edition of Frugal Food. We’ve got new and extended restaurant deals from Carluccio’s, Giraffe, YO! Sushi, Browns, ASK and GBK. We’ve also got lots of half-price wine and Champagne offers, 50% off salmon, beef, pork and gammon, new vouchers for Millie’s Cookies, 15% off at Approved Food, and £5 off food at M&S!

Best supermarket deals

This week, we’re going to kick off with the top deals at Morrisons. 1l tubs of Carte D’Or ice cream are currently half-price, at £1.47. And 250g packs of Young’s cooked and peeled prawns are also 50% off, at £1.99 each.

Co-op offers include 600g packs of Truly Irresistible Taw Valley/Lockerbie Mature Cheddar, down from £6.19 to just £3. And you can still bag a Matthew Walker 454g Christmas pudding for £2.75, right down from £6.

Over at Sainsbury’s, there’s still a better-than-half-price deal on Muller Rice which means you get 12 pots for £3.

300g packs of smoked salmon are half-price at £4.99; and joints of beef, pork and gammon are also priced at 50% off.

Finally, 600g boxes of Cadbury Milk Tray are £5 each, down from £10.

Tesco deals include a 2 for 1 offer on six-packs of all-butter croissants - a good option for Christmas morning. There’s also a 2 for 1 deal on Pilgrims Choice Cheddar; and 600g packs of blue stilton are down from £6 to £3.

Also at Tesco, eight-packs of salmon fillets are reduced from £9 to £4.50. Finally, 435g boxes of Christmas Collection chocolates are still £2.75, down from £6.

At ASDA, 1kg beef roasting joints are reduced from £8.48 to £4 each. ASDA’s ‘Loaded’ ice cream is usually £2.47 per tub - but you can currently pick up three tubs for just £3.

Finally, 1kg tins of Nestle Quality Street chocolates are down from £8 to £4.

LIDL is selling 20-packs of Walkers crisps for £1.99, Goodfella’s pizzas for 99p each, 2l bottles of Pepsi and 7Up for 79p, and 570g bottles of Heinz tomato ketchup for 99p.

NETTO deals include family-sized apple pies for 49p, 36-packs of Walkers crisps for £3, and 500g tubs of I Can’t Believe it’s Not Butter for 59p.

And finally, ALDI Super 6 fruit and veg offers include 750g of sprouts, 500g of parsnips and 1kg of carrots - all for 39p each.

Tipple

At the Co-op, you can now grab bottles of Charles de Cazanove Champagne for £14.99 each, down from £29.99.

And at Marks & Spencer there’s an online sale on alcohol, with 50% off certain wines and Champagnes.

New online shoppers with Tesco Wine can now get £10 off orders over £50.

To get the discount, enter the code XX7HFW at the checkout. Bear in mind that you need to order at least 12 bottles of wine, or six of Champagne. This offer runs until 27th February 2011.

You can still get a free shot at Pitcher & Piano bars when you register here and print the voucher.

You can use the voucher to claim your free Jagerbomb (a shot of Jagermeister dropped into a glass of Red Bull!). The deal runs until 30th December.

At ASDA, you can still pick up a bottle of Pierre Darcys non-vintage Brut Champagne for just £9.87, right down from £23.98.

And at Tesco, there’s still a great deal on Andre Carpentier Brut Champagne: Bottles are usually £24.99 - but you can now pick them up for £10 each.

Cut price snacks

There are some great new money-off deals at Millie’s Cookies: To grab them, just print this sheet of vouchers and present them at the till.

For example, you can buy six cookies and get six free; or get a free hot drink when you buy another. The vouchers expire on 31st January 2011.

Finally, you can still get a free glass of Coke at your nearest Yates’s: Just register here, print the voucher and present it at the bar.

Voucher codes

You can now get 15% off online orders at clearance food retailer Approved Food.

To get the discount, you need to enter the code XMAS at the checkout by 26th December.

New Waitrose customers can still get £10 off when they spend at least £75 online.

To take advantage of this offer, you’ll need to pick up the right leaflet instore, which includes a voucher code (if you can’t find one on display, ask at the information desk).

You then shop online using the Waitrose Groceries site, and enter the code at the checkout. The offer runs until the end of December, and households can use one code each.

And finally... £5 off at M&S Food

You’ll soon be able to get a £5 discount when you spend £25 or more at Marks & Spencer Food.

Look out for the appropriate discount leaflet instore and take it to the till during January to claim your discount (each leaflet contains four separate vouchers, one for each week in January).

The vouchers won’t be valid on food to order, or flowers and gifts that are delivered. Certain stores are also excluded (those in airports and service stations, for example) so read the terms & conditions carefully.
