Welcome to this week’s edition of Frugal Food. Let’s kick things off straight away with the best grocery deals around.
Best supermarket deals
This week, we’ll start with the latest ‘Dine In’ meal deal from Marks & Spencer. As always, you can get sides, mains and desserts for two - plus a bottle of wine - for £10.
The latest offer runs from now until 5th October (Tuesday) and you can view the full menu here.
At Tesco, top deals include various two-packs of Cadbury’s puddings down from £2 to £1, and 400g of baby plum tomatoes reduced from £2 to £1.
There are also 2 for 1 deals on Saint Agur cheese and Activia yoghurt multi-packs. You can get 14 Birds Eye fish fingers for £1.39 (usual price £2.99); and a range of Napolina pasta sauces are half-price, down from £1.99 to 99p a jar.
Finally, 1.07kg tins of Quality Street are down from £10 to just £5 each.
Over at ASDA, you can pick up a range of Dolmio sauces for 95p each, reduced from £1.90-£2.38 per jar.
Various different varieties of Pot Noodle are half-price at 55p (usual price £1.10); and fizzy drink multi-packs (including 7Up and Pepsi) are also half their normal price.
Sainsbury’s offers include 2 for 1 deals on Cox apples, Conference pears, plums, golden plums and various Ginsters pasties.
There’s still a 2 for 1 Sainsbury’s deal on multi-packs of Muller Fruit and Crunch Corners - which means you get 12 pots for £2.89. And there’s a good 3 for 1 deal on Pringles, so you can pick up three tubes for £2.03.
At Morrisons, Cox apples are half-price, at 75p a bag, and 1l bottles of Robinsons squash are down from £1.09 to 54p each.
Also at Morrisons, you can pick up 1.35kg squeezy bottles of Heinz tomato ketchup for £1.49 (reduced from £2.98); and 400g packs of The Lake District Co mature cheddar are down from £3.99 to £2.
Good Co-op deals include its higher welfare Elmwood chicken family meal deal: You get a whole chicken, carrots, cauliflower, broccoli and Maris Piper potatoes for £5.
And you can currently pick up jars of Lloyd Grossman pasta sauce for £1 each, down from £2.05.
Over at NETTO, top offers include 1.26kg of back bacon for £4 and 24-packs of Golden Wonder crisps for £2.
You can also pick up 200g jars of Douwe Egberts Le Café Dark for £3.49, 400g Toblerones for just £2 each and 2l bottles of whole and semi-skimmed milk for only £1 each.
ALDI’s new Super 6 fruit and veg deals now include whole cabbages, three-packs of onions, 500g of beetroot, 1kg of salad potatoes, 500g of parsnips and whole cauliflower - all for 39p each.
And finally, LIDL is currently selling four tins of Branston baked beans for £1, 500g of Pilgrims Choice extra mature Cheddar for £2.49, four pints (2.27l) of whole or semi-skimmed milk for just £1 each, and 1l tubs of Carte D’Or vanilla ice cream for £1.49.
Tipple
At Majestic Wine, you can now get 25% off any two bottles of Spanish wine. The offer excludes wines under £5, over £25, cava and sherry.
You can also get 20% off any two bottles of South African wine.
Marks & Spencer is still offering 25% off a range of award-winning wines, to celebrate winning over 200 awards for wine already this year.
And you can still get a free Jack Daniels drink (25ml spirit plus mixer) at your nearest Pitcher & Piano when you register here and print the voucher.
The offer runs every day until 5th October, and you can choose from JD and Ginger, JD and Cola or JD and Apple Jack.

Cut price snacks
You can now get a free glass of coke when you register with Yates’s pubs. Just sign up here, print the voucher and take it to your nearest branch to claim your drink.
Hunt down October’s issue of Glamour magazine and bag a free coffee voucher (amongst several others for non-food items).
The voucher entitles you to a free latte at Coffee Republic, and is valid from 4th to 10th October.
Voucher codes
This week’s new voucher is actually newspaper-based - and you’ll have to act quick: Buy either the Daily Express or the Daily Star this Friday (1st October) and you’ll find a voucher inside offering you £5 off a £30 spend at LIDL.
You can only use one voucher per transaction; and the vouchers are valid until 3rd October. Unfortunately, the offer isn’t valid in Northern Ireland.
There’s still a good promotion currently running at Tesco Wine, which means you can get 50% off plus 500 extra Clubcard points.
Choose the wine you want in the Tesco Wine online sale - then enter the code XXDLGV at the check-out to get the 500 points.
New and existing customers can take advantage of the deal - but you’ll need to order at least 12 bottles of wine (two crates) and place the order before 3rd October.
