General public desert PPI claims firms

Half of all PPI claims are now being filed directly by consumers rather than claims management firms. This is fantastic news!

General public desert PPI claims firms

PPI claims firms really are a pain. They try to sell their services via cold calls and endless texts, and they’re offering to do something you can do yourself.  On top of that, some firms have been accused of filing thousands of false claims.

So I was pleased to see today that the truth about PPI claims firms is now getting through to the public.

The Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS) published its latest report on customer complaints today and the report revealed that 50% of PPI claims were filed by individuals in the first half of this year. That’s up from 20% a year earlier.

I’m delighted to see this change, and I very much hope that the trend will continue. Given the dodgy marketing techniques used by some claims companies, I don’t feel any sympathy for them whatsoever.

If you think you might be eligible for some PPI compensation, you can find out how to make a claim on your own in How to claim your PPI compensation.

Damn, and I was going to set one up myself. Got to be a nice little money spinner, getting a few thousand quid for sending maybe 2 letters.
