The Big news in this version is the addition of budgeting. When you next login to online banking you will notice there is a budgeting tab at the top of the page next to transactions. You are now able to set a monthly budget for any specific category and to track you progress through the month against the budget you set.

It’s really easy to use. Here’s what you do:

When you have added your accounts and categorised your transaction data simply click on the budgeting tab. (Note: budgeting will only be useful and accurate if you’ve categorised your transactions properly – there is  a ‘getting started’ guide to help you do this.)

When you arrive on the budgeting page, ‘select the category’ you wish to apply a budget to from the drop down (selecting a category will automatically display ‘Your monthly average spending’ for this category - handy for informing your budget target!) Then, simply enter the amount you wish to budget and select ‘add budget.’

You’re done! You will now have a budget view of the category budget you have just added, complete with your ‘monthly spend so far’ against your budget and the means to ‘edit’ your budget as you go.

We’ve also made some enhancements to the analysis section to make things clearer. The main change is that we have amended the analysis view to show your monthly ‘spend so far’ against your monthly average.

Further small changes include additions to FAQ’s  explaining the more common error codes, speeding up the login time after time-out and putting the comment box at the top of the page on the feedback forum.

As ever, please do leave comments and feedback on this blog or you can always visit the feedback forum.

Happy budgeting!

    Hi,

I am finding this service very interesting. I am wondering if there are plans to include something where I can manually add what I spend my cash withdrawls on?

Other than that keep up the good work!

    Hi shinyfeet,

Thanks very much for your post and the positive feedback.

Glad that you are finding the service useful. That's an interesting point, it's a bit of detail we are sure would be useful. The idea is noted, we'll discuss it in the team when we are planning future iterations.

    Kind regards,

    Carl
