Today is a really important and exciting day for the website. We have a few new features that we've been working on for a while and we think you are going to love them.

The new Goals application:

When you register with the site and go through our profiler we provide you tailored content and money saving tips that fit your lifestyle. Today, with the launch of our new Goals application, we take things to another level by introducing a new and totally interactive way to achieve your financial goals.

Our lovemoney.com experts have created an ever-increasing list of life-changing goals that we think we could all benefit from striving to achieve. Goals include things like Prepare your finances for a wedding, Become a buy-to-let landlord and Cut the cost of having a baby.  Every goal is designed to help you battle your personal finance demons, get things done, save time and BECOME RICHER!

To get you underway with our goals application we have suggested some goals for you, you'll find them on your personal homepage.

You'll notice each goal is comprised of lots of manageable tasks organised into types: easy, quick, and online.

All tasks are actionable, so when you complete (or skip) a task we'll update your progress bar so you can see how close you are getting towards your goal. Your goal progress is displayed on the left hand side of goal pages and on your personal homepage. (As your goal progress is private to you, you need to be logged in to see it.)

When you complete all the tasks that make up a goal, you will have achieved your goal, so your status on that goal will show as complete. At this point, you can tackle the goal again (some are repeatable), or browse through the goals on offer and take on another.

Finally, If you need help on the way you can read 'Tips' that are left by other users on individual tasks. We'd also encourage you to leave your own 'Tips' to tell us where we are going wrong or if you think there are better ways to complete the goals. (You need to be logged in to leave tips, though not to read them. You'll find them attached to each and every task page.)

Every one of us can make real changes in our financial lives; we are really pleased to offer a tool that can help you do just that. We'll be adding more Goals over time and now all you need to do is get out there and start achieving them!

As if that wasn't enough we have two other great additions to the website today, the ability to write and read reviews of the products available on our website and a new alert system so you can keep up to date with your favourite applications on lovemoney.com.

    Hey Carl,

I use the lovemoney website a lot, but just looked at my alert today after a long time, only to learn that it will be deleted in 1 day! Could you please give us an archive option so we can archive an alert we'd like to keep? Same for the Inbox option?

I have actually achieved my goals (set a while ago), retired at 50, am starting up a whole new career and working for myself. Lovemoney was one of my tools in getting there, so thank you to the team - all of you! Please stop doing reviews on Apple products, though!!! I'm a PC, as I imagine a lot of your readers are, and as someone said, there are enough websites doing comparisons of IT products. Stick with what you all do best, talking about money and how to make, use and save it.

    Thanks,

    Hey msmoneywise,

Sorry for the delay. I don't get an alert for comments on older posts!

An archive option is a good idea. It's noted, it's a sensible idea - we hope the alert didn't get deleted before you could read it.

Hehe re-Apple products. I'll pass the comments along.

Kind regards and thanks for the positive feedack, it is appreciated.

    Carl
