The much anticipated launch of lovemoney.com Version 2.0!

On this day 204 years ago London’s Pall Mall became the first street lit by gaslight*  I don’t only mention this because I nearly got run over there this very morning, but also because today we encounter a major milestone in our own history, the much anticipated launch of lovemoney.com Version 2.0!

*Thank you Google.

So, plenty of things to run you through then including a new homepage, great logged in functionality, easier navigation and a complete rebrand of our Personal Financial Management product, Tracker.  Let’s take a look around…

Our homepage is your homepage

‘Tis true!  By default, the homepage is a hub of wonderful snippets showcasing what’s going on around the website, but when you sign in you’ll find that yours is fully personalised, delivering a churn of expert help and community insight based on the topics that you’re following.  There’s also a ‘Notification’ tab where you’ll find the latest lovemoney.com alerts.

Bringing search to the fore was one of the really important changes we wanted to make and you’ll find it on tap, site-wide…

Knowledge that empowers

Flick to the Knowledge section using the tabs at the top of the page to read the latest articles and blogs.  You can browse our comprehensive How-to guides (which include amazing community tips) and you can also pose questions (or indeed answer some) on the ever popular Q&A platform.  Just use the bar immediately below the Knowledge tab to find your way around.

Just you

Notice the ‘Just you’ tab on the Knowledge page.  This is where content is filtered to your personal topic interests.  To follow a topic, simply click on it at the top of any article or Q&A entry.  Select as many of the 70 topics as you like from the funky ‘Manage my topics’ page to keep up to date with content that’s relevant to you. You access this from your personal homepage or the Knowledge page once logged in.

People like you

We’ve also brought together the most popular items as read by customers with similar profiles to yours.  Just click on the ‘People like you’ tab on the Knowledge page and peruse the list at will!

Compare the very best deals

We’ve spent some time now building the very best comparison engines to take the leg work out of finding the best products online.  We have your interests at heart and we’ve even set up an FSA regulated Financial Services arm to help you with your mortgage and assurance searches, fee free!  To find the best deal around make your way over to the Compare tab and search with confidence.  Oh, and do try out the ‘Just you’ tab to manage your recent product selections.

Track your finances automatically

Our free-to-use Personal Financial Management tool has been evolving for over a year now and it’s finally secured a tab of it’s own!  You can auto-import your online banking accounts and it will intelligently categorise all of your transactions, painting a picture of income and expenditure in your Tracker dashboard.  It’s truly awesome, so check it out here! And if you want to learn more about it, I humbly defer to my colleague Charlie who’ll bring you up to speed

Get talking

We’ve released our shiny new Groups application to everyone.  It’s here that you can really get involved: post a comment, join a discussion and chat with like-minded, knowledgeable people, all in a relaxed and friendly environment.

Share the love

Finally, if you find a contribution from a community member that really stands out for you, please let them know by clicking on the ‘Love’ button below their entry.  It’s basically a big pat on the back and we’re pretty fond of that sort of thing.  Loves are anonymously compiled and you can see how many you personally have on your profile page.

So a great deal of changes going out today.  Here at lovemoney.com towers we really want to help you make the best money decisions and take full control of your finances.  We hope you like the latest version and if you’ve got any feedback please drop us a note at feedback@lovemoney.com (or of course add your thoughts to the bottom of this post!)

Thanks for taking the time to read this.

All the best,

Ian

PS: we’re growing!  If you haven’t yet checked out our new sister site, lovefood.com, whizz over there now and take a look…  (Your lovemoney.com account will work there too!)
