Property expert Sarah Beeny reveals her six favourite money-saving websites...

Hello, I’m Sarah Beeny. I’ve been invited by lovemoney.com to post a guest blog about my favourite money-saving websites - so here goes...

Betternest

Tipping these guys to go far. Started last year by a group of architects, they aim to explore permitted development rights on properties and can produce a 3D model of your property showing all the possible extensions you could make, with before and after valuations, as well as advice on getting permission should you need it.

Mydeco

Some great tools here. The 3D room planner lets you take home furnishings off the shelf and try them in a model of your room before you buy. There are hundreds of retailers on there now, you can even shop for paint.

Smarta

Brilliant entrepreneurial resource which supports new businesses. From getting advice to watching videos of some huge entrepreneurs, it's a site you can spend hours on reading up about how best to approach things.

MyBuilder

This website works like a sort of dating agency for homeowners and tradespeople. Read user reviews and leave details of future projects to get some great quotes.

Baa Baby

A lovely feel-good website to buy organic natural baby clothes and gifts for people and being a mum of four boys I'm a regular visitor.

Tepilo

Completely free to use, my own website, Tepilo.com, simply walks you through the process of buying, selling or letting a home, giving you practical advice on how to make the most of your property through design, negotiation and marketing.

The site, which is set out in a easy to use style, helps you present your home in a glossy magazine format, and gives you the opportunity to describe your home how you want to, allowing you to focus on the key unique selling points of your home.

I'll admit to being a little biased in my response as I'm a fan of Sarah's advice whether it be in an article like this or on her television appearances. Couple that with her experience and success and I can't see where you would go wrong with these suggested sites. Just visited them and they're now all on my favourites list.

    Regarding Betternest

Unfortunately, if you speak to either their subcontractors (or in fact MOST of their Clients - myself being one!!), they wouldn't really have the same comments to make!
