Recession restaurant bargains!

If there’s one good thing that has come out of the recession, it’s the sheer number of fabulous restaurant deals that are around at the moment.

If there's one good thing that has come out of the recession, it's the sheer number of fabulous restaurant deals that are around at the moment. Seriously, I think it's brilliant! And it certainly stops me from feeling too guilty about spending money on dining out.

Just a few weeks ago I enjoyed a delicious meal in ASK. Two of us shared a starter, had a main course each, a drink each, shared a dessert and had a coffee, and the whole thing came to around £25! That truly is a bargain in my opinion! Admittedly I did have to convince the waitress that my voucher was valid on a Saturday (which it was), and I later had to remind her to include my voucher on the bill. But I got there in the end, and it was well worth it!

Right now, there are stacks of restaurant deals to enjoy - particularly if you're partial to the odd Italian (like I am). Just take a look at these:

ASK

Valid until 19 July.

Cafe Rouge

2 for 1 on mains if you sign up here.

Excludes Center Parcs and Gatwick Airport.

Caffe Uno

Every Sunday to Thursday until 30 July.

Giraffe

Every Monday to Friday, and Sundays from 6pm until 9 August.

Gourmet Burger Kitchen (GBK)

2 for 1 burgers or main salad if you sign up here - most expensive free.

All day, every day until Sunday 19th July.

Excludes Build Your Own, Laverstoke Park farm & Junior burgers.

La Tasca

50% off food with this voucher.

Valid until 31 July.

Pizza Express

2 for 1 on mains with this voucher.

Valid until 19 July.

Not valid at Pizza Express O2.

Prezzo

2 for 1 on mains if you sign up here.

Every Sunday to Thursday until 19 July.

Strada

2 for 1 on main courses with this voucher from handbag.com.

Every Sunday to Friday until 26 July.

Not valid in Center Parcs, Royal Festival Hall, Riverside, Great Queen Street, or St Katharine Docks.

Zizzi

Buy one meal and get another for £1 with this voucher.

Every Sunday to Thursday until 30 July.

As you can see, you're spoilt for choice! In fact, I think it would be quite easy to eat out every night for the next week! So make sure you print out as many vouchers as you can and keep them handy. You don't want to be caught short, believe me. I was not a happy bunny when I dined out in Strada a week or so ago and realised I had forgotten my 2 for 1 voucher - not very frugal!

What's more, toptable.com is also offering some amazing deals at truly great restaurants right now. These include 50% off your bill, or a set three course menu and an alcoholic beverage for anywhere between £15-25 per person. Not bad!

So if you fancy treating yourself to a meal out, make the most of these deals while you can. Because I suspect that as soon as the economy starts to improve, you can kiss goodbye to these scrumptious restaurant deals.

And don't forget to check out our new frugal food round-up for more food bargains!

Might also be worth considering a Taste London card. We were given some by work (they cost around £60 a year I think) but it means you can get quite a good savings if you eat out 2-5 times a month.

They have Pizza Express on their scheme (50% of the entire food bill) isnt too bad plus it gets you to try new restuarants.
