Welcome to this week's edition of Frugal Food. We’ve got new and extended restaurant deals from the Slug and Lettuce, Ask, La Tasca, Beefeater Grills and Garfunkels. Plus this weekend it’s Dine In for £10 at M&S, you can enjoy the last few special offers in the 12 days of Christmas promo at Starbucks, save a third on Taste the Difference wine and Prosecco at Sainsbury’s, get free delivery at Hotel Chocolat, nab a free can from the Coca-Cola van and win fab prizes when you dine at Pizza Express!

 Best supermarket deals

This week we’re going to kick off with the latest Dine in for Two for £10 offer at Marks & Spencer. Available mains include a whole chicken, two salmon fillets, cottage pie, fish pie and lasagne. See the full menu here. The Dine in for Two offer is valid until Tuesday 13th December.

Sainsbury’s has its own meal deal for £10 – this time buy any four mains across their pizza, Indian, Chinese and Mexican sections and add two sides or desserts, all for £10. Other bargains include 2 for £2.50 on New Covent Garden Soup (usually £2 each) and New York Bakery bagels (usually £1.49 each), two for £3 on Knorr stock pots (usually £2.41 each) and one litre bottles of Ribena are reduced by 82p to £2. It’s also three for £3 on Sensations crisps (usually £1.75 each) – an offer that is available at Asda too.

Asda is also offering two for £1 promos on packs of three large onions (usually 82p each), four baking potatoes (usually 60p) and loose savoy cabbages (usually 76p). It’s also three for £3.50 on hot cross buns (usually 77p each), Dairylea Dunkers Nachos for £1 (was £2.08), 500g of Seriously Strong Cheddar for £3 (was £5) and a massive 1kg of Asda sweet silverskin pickled onions for £1 (was £1.78). You can also buy whole leg of lamb for £6/kg (was £7/kg) and any two for £3 on various fruity items such as packs of four oriental pears (usually £1.87 each), 200g punnets of cherries (usually £2.97 each), cantaloupe melons (usually £1.75 each) and pink lady apples (usually £2.35 each).

Over at Tesco you can grab two tubs of Wall's Carte D'Or Chocolate Inspiration Ice Cream (900ml) for £4 (was £3.45 each), Rowse pure natural squeezy honey for £1.69 (was £2.26) or Tesco Finest orange blossom honey for £2.39 (was £2.99), It’s BOGOF on Kellogg’s Honey Loops 375g (£2.69) and Rice Krispies 350g (£2.68), Tesco puff pastry mince pies (£1), Mini Babybel (£1.58), Yop Yoghurt (95p), Nik Naks variety packs (£2.49), Oreo Cookies (99p) and Doritos (£1.98).

And for a sweet treat this weekend, head to the freezer section to buy Banoffee Cheescake for £1.76 (was £1.99), Apple Strudel for £1 (was £1.47) and from the Tesco Finest range, Bramley Apple Pie for £3 (was £2.50) and Strawberry Eton Mess for £3 (was £3.50).

Next up the half-price weekend deals at LIDL: 340g of fresh British frying steak for £1.39, 750g of red onions for 39p, 500g of Utterly Butterly for 90p and Sondey butter biscuits for 43p. Then keep an eye out for 40p off 1kg of chicken thighs (now £2.25), 79p off 2kg rooster potatoes (now £1), 2 for £3 on Petit Chebra (usually £1.99 each) and Jacob’s Biscuits for Cheese for 99p (was £1.85).  

Finally, check out the special offers this week from online gourmet butcher Westin Gourmet which includes 20% off Lincolnshire sausages (now £6.12 for 18), 19% off British mature cheddar (now £15.62 for 2.45kg) and 17% off Barbary duck breasts (now £11.99 for four).

Drinks

Also don’t miss this fab champers offer – I did mention it in yesterdays Frugal Christmas Gifts for Everyone but in case you missed it, grab Champagne Comte de Brismand Brut Reserve for only £12.99. This beat luxury brands such as Lanson Black Label, Moët & Chandon and Veuve Clicquot in a recent Which? taste test.

At Sainsbury’s you get 1/3 off selected Taste the Difference wine and Prosecco, it’s also two for £22 on big brand spirits and two for £16 on big packs of beer.

And, you can still save £15 on orders over £49.99 at Laithwaites Wine using the code VCODE15, valid until 31st December.

Cut-price snacks

Starbucks is offering a top Christmas deal every day until 12th December. Like the Starbucks Facebook page to see what is on offer; today you can save 50% on the Christmas Blend beans, on Saturday all Starbucks mugs are half-price, on Sunday you can get 50% off tumblers and finally on Monday get a free 3-pack of Via Read Brew when you buy any Via tumbler.

Ongoing deals:

• Save 50p on Frank’s Redhot sauce with this voucher – you have until 31st December 2011 to claim the voucher (allow up to 28 days for delivery) but you can use it until 31st January 2012.
• Enter your details here and you’ll be sent a voucher for 50p off your next Grove purchase, valid until 31st December 2011.
• Get 75p off any Tetley's Extra Strong tea over on the Tetley Facebook page.
• Save 50p on Sacla sauces and pesto with this voucher, 50p on Nestle Curiously Cinammon cereal with this voucher, and 30p on Nestle Cheerios with this voucher before they all expire on 31st December.

• Facebook users can still ‘Like’ the Warburton page for 30p off their next purchase of their bread or rolls.
• And you can still get discounted Innocent veg pots here – the more people that tweet using the hashtag #tweetandeat, the cheaper you all get them. Once it’s gone as cheap as it will go you can print the coupon (at whatever level it happens to be at) and head to a store.

Voucher codes

Use VCDECFD10 to get free delivery until 15th December at Hotel Chocolat (from Vouchercodes.co.uk). You can also save 10% on orders over £20 in store with this voucher on any day of the week until 31st December. Online save 10% when you spend £40 using VCWINTER10 (expires 25th December).

Another code exclusive to Vouchercodes.co.uk this week is VC4D which saves you 20% on orders over at Thorntons or use code FCCX for a free Continental Collection when you spend £35, both valid until Sunday 11th December. You can also get a free Mint Selection (250g) worth £6.99 when you spend £20 (excluding delivery and icing) using the code FMVC which is valid until the end of the year – note you will need to add the free product to your basket (product code 0239).

Another new one for Pizza Hut Delivery – this weekend you can save 50% on a £30 spend with the code EMAPLKTAG (valid until 12th December).
