Welcome to this week's edition of Frugal Food. We’ve got new and extended restaurant deals from The Slug and Lettuce, La Tasca and Pizza Hut. We’ve also got a 3 for 1 Ben & Jerry’s deal, free shots, 50% off wine, better-than-half-price Champagne, 3 for 2 chocs, free sandwiches, free glasses of Coke and free Christmas crackers!

Welcome to this week’s edition of Frugal Food.

Best supermarket deals

This week, I’m going to kick off with the top offers at Sainsbury’s. There are half-price deals on plums, asparagus and brussel sprouts; and although six-packs of Muller Rice usually cost £3.29, you can now get two packs for just £3.

Also at Sainsbury’s, all varieties of Dolmio pasta sauce have been reduced from around £2.10 to £1.

At Tesco, cranberries are down from £3.50 to £1.50 per 250g, and this British cheese selection is still half-price.

All varieties of Napolina pasta sauce are down from £1.99 to 99p a jar. And this tin of Tesco shortbread (650g) is reduced from £8 to just £3.50.

Over at ASDA, this Cadbury Collection tin of biscuits (400g) is down from £10 to just £4.

Top deals at Morrisons include 400g of oak smoked salmon for £5, and Royal Edinburgh tins of assorted shortbread, down from £7.99 to £3.99.

At the Co-op, 150g boxes of Terry’s Twilight chocolates are now just £1, down from £2.50.

Meanwhile at LIDL, you can get 1kg of clementines for 79p, packs of cooked Scottish mussels for 99p, 1.5l of apple juice for 42p, and 1kg of carrots for 39p.

Finally at NETTO, you can grab 320 Tetley tea bags for £3. And if you buy one pot of Ben & Jerry’s for £4.18, you’ll get another two free!

Tipple

You can now get a free shot at Pitcher & Piano bars when you register here and print the voucher.

You can use the voucher to claim your free Jagerbomb (a shot of Jagermeister dropped into a glass of Red Bull!). The deal runs until 30th December.

If you visit your local Marston’s pub on Thursdays, you can get 50% off wine all day (sparkling wine and Champagne is excluded from the offer).

This is an ongoing, in-bar deal, so just ask at the counter when you turn up.

At ASDA, you can now pick up a bottle of Pierre Darcys non-vintage Brut Champagne for just £9.87, right down from £23.98.

And at Tesco, there’s still a great deal on Andre Carpentier Brut Champagne: Bottles are usually £24.99 - but you can now pick them up for £10 each.
