Books and games

Now the sun is out, I’ve spent the last couple of weekends reading in the garden – absolute heaven! If you fancy doing the same, check out these great deals.

  • The first place to look for great books is Amazon, which offers 55% off three new books each and every week. This week you can get The Last Resort by Douglas Rogers for £4.99, The Snowman by Jo Nesbo for £5.84, and Parisians, a book detailing the history of the French capital and its inhabitants by Graham Robb, for £8.54.
  • If you are a cricket fan, then you will no doubt be desperate to get your hands on this year’s cricketing bible, the latest Wisden Cricketers Almanac. Head over to the Book Depository and you can save more than £20, getting it for £24.74

If, instead, you would prefer to spend your weekend in a button-tapping frenzy, then take a gander at these great gaming deals.

  • If you are a fan of the GTA series, then you’ll want to get your hands on the new Grand Theft Auto Episodes from Liberty City on the PS3. HMV is your best bet, with the game available for £24.72, saving you £10.27.
  • If you are instead an Xbox360 user, then head over to Powerplay Direct where you can get the new Splinter Cell game, Conviction, for £33.49, saving you £16.

Deal of the week

I reckon I speak for most men when I say that I hate buying flowers. You never know if your other half will like them, and they’re dead within hours. If you really want to say those three magic words (“I’m sorry dear”), then you should do it with biscuits!

Luckily for you, we’ve teamed up with Biscuiteers, a brilliant personalised biccie firm, to offer all lovemoney.com users a 15% discount, so long as you enter the code LOVEMONEY at the checkout.

Cheap days out

The sun is shining, and that means there’s no excuse not to get out of the house! Over at enjoyEngland, there are loads of great deals at the moment, including tickets for the National Gallery, as well as tea and scones at Fortnum and Mason for £19.50!

You can also get two for one on tickets to the beautiful Knebworth Park (which boasts its own Dinosaur Trail and miniature railway!) and for Shakespeare’s birthplace up in Stratford-upon-Avon.

Mobile phone deal

If you send loads of text messages each week, then this week’s mobile phone deal might be just for you – 50 minutes of talk time, unlimited texts, the Samsung Pixon handset - all for just £15 a month on an 18 month contract. Find out more.

Freebie of the week

Rarely ten minutes go by in the lovemoney.com office without the offer of a cup of tea. If you are similarly a tea obsessive, then get yourself over to the Twinings website where you can select two speciality teas to try out, absolutely free!
