Having just returned from a holiday in Barbados, I can't say I'm particularly pleased to see that England is still experiencing a cold snap. But if, like me, you're still suffering from the winter blues, hopefully this week's Frugal Friday blog will help to cheer you up!

Fashion and homewares

The spring sales are in full swing, so if you're looking to pick up a top fashion bargain, here's where to head:

  • Barratts: Up to 70% off selected lines.
  • BHS: Save 20% on selected spring lines.
  • Burton: 30% off selected lines.
  • Debenhams: Up to 20% off if you enter the online code PY6P by Sunday (14 February).
  • Dorothy Perkins: Final clearance - many items £7 or less. Plus, 15% off orders over £50 with the online code DP1VAL15. Expires on Sunday (14 February).
  • Faith: Up to 70% off selected lines in the winter sale, with boots up to half price.
  • Hobbs: Selected items reduced, with as much as 70% off.
  • House of Fraser: The sale continues with up to 70% off selected lines on fashion for all the family.
  • New Look: 10% off if you use the online code SPRING10 by 17 February.
  • Next: The end of season sale continues with most items at least 50% off, with 70% off women's tall and plus sizes.
  • Office: Up to 75% off a range of footwear.
  • Oasis: Up to 70% off selected fashion.
  • TOPMAN: Final clearance is taking place with up to 75% off.
  • Topshop: Final clearance with many items better than half-price.
  • Urban Outfitters: Up to 80% off men's and women's fashions.
  • Wallis: Up to 70% off selected lines.
  • Warehouse: Many lines from under £10.

If you're looking for something for the kitchen, Very.co.uk is currently offering up to 50% off selected items.

Gadgets and gizmos

Very.co.uk is also the place to go if you need a new television because it's offering up to 25% off! This LG 42 inch LCD TV is now £499 - a saving of £150. And this Sharp 32 inch LCD TV has £200 off at £549.  

Alternatively, if you're off on holiday soon and need a brand new digital camera, you can save £120 on this Kodak Digital Camera which is now £119, also at Very. And this Sony Digital Camera has £26 off at £89.

Meanwhile, at Argos, you can save £30 on this funky Bush Portable DVD Player which is now £99.99. And this Philips Blu Ray Player is now £129.99, saving you £40.

Books and games

With the weather still cold, why not snuggle up with a good book in front of the fire? And with these bargains, you'll have plenty to keep you occupied:

  • Right now, The Book Depository is offering up to 60% off a range of novels. So if you fancy getting your hands on Charlaine Harris' Dead and Gone, this is now £5.19, saving you £7.80.
  • However, if you're more of a Sophie Kinsella fan, her latest novel Twenties Girl is now £3.85, a saving of £4.14.
  • And if you're a bit of a foodie, Jamie's Ministry of Food has £10.01 off at £14.99.
  • Alternatively, Waterstones is also offering up to 50% off new and recommended books.
