High street sales are still going strong, so don’t think bargain hunting season is over!
- French Connection: up to 75% off, and all winter sale coats are £89 or less.

- Body Shop: 50% off Winter Essentials like moisturiser and lip salve. Sign up to their newsletter and they email you a code for 25% off your next order. - Office: Up to 50% off in-store and online. Now there are final reductions with an extra 20% off for a limited time.
- Sportsdirect.com : Their Everything Must Go Sale is still running with up to 80% off. Men’s Campri thermal tops down from £22.99 to £6.
- Decathlon: Great everyday prices but check out their January Sale brochure for real bargains. Ends 25th January.
DIY and Furniture
Wickes sells to public and trade and has loads of competitive offers. There is currently a half price sale, with kitchens available from only £399.
Go to Homebase for up to 60% off on kitchen units, bathrooms and bedrooms and half price on selected furniture, with some item 1/3 off like this oak sideboard down from £369.99 to £246.66.
Health and beauty
If your January fitness regime is still going strong you can save up to half price on Tesco Direct gym equipment like this cross trainer down from £1,300 to £650. This purchase will also earn you 650 Clubcard points (and 4% cashback if you click through Quidco!)
If you are de-toxing this January it can have some annoying side effects, such as extra-dark eye circles, but do not fear. Cover them up with a touch of Yves Saint Laurent Touche Eclat Radiant Touch at a bargain price of £17.95 (down from £24.50) from Cheapsmells.co.uk. Check out the Superdrug Blue Cross Sale where there are loads of men’s and women’s products on sale. Superdrug is also selling lots of items for 10p in store, such as branded shampoos, hair gels and moisturisers – subject to availability of course! Sign up for its Beauty Card whilst you are at it!
Books and games
There are some cracking offers from The Book People at the moment, with up to 75% off. The Times Atlas of Great Britain is £7.99 saving £82.01 on the RRP of £90. It’s apparently the first new British Atlas for over 40 years! Or buy The War Horse (just made into a film by Steven Spielberg) at 69% off – now £3.99 down from £12.99.
The site is also great for children’s books. The Oxford Reading Tree Songbirds Phonics Collection, which I can't rate highly enough, is £15 for 36 books, an enormous saving of £113! Snap up all fifteen Roald Dahl novels for £15.99, a saving of £69.86 from the RRP of £85.85.
There’s also a whole range of books at only £1, such Usborne’s First Thousand Words in German (an excellent introduction to language for children) down from £5.99, or the Dr Who Quiz Collection – a set of four books down from a RRP of £19.96! The Early Learning Centre is running a Great Book Exchange. You have until 31st January to drop off books that your children have grown out of into your local ELC store. These books will then be given to children who need them and you will be given 50% off brand new books in return.
HMV has reportedly had a bad few months, so there should be some bargains to snap up in its up to half price sale, like this Xbox 360 game: Bulletstorm down from £17.99 to £9.99. Remember to check the Blockbuster Marketplace to find second hand games of all kinds, all coming with a six month pre-owned quality guarantee and a considerably lower price tag!
