If you’re planning to give your home a bit of a New Year makeover, pick up a few of these bargains first:

• At Sainsbury’s, many homeware items are half-price in the sale including this Breville stainless steel toaster, now £25, this Waves rug, also £25, this wooden frame storage cupboard for £24.99 and this Hinari low cooker now only £10 – but hurry the best stuff always goes quickly!
• Amazon is also offering selected kitchen and home appliances with 50% off or more. This Russell Hobbs iron is only £13.99, saving you £19, whilst this Morphy Richards premium breadmaker is half-price at £74.99!
• For quirky home accessories, head to Clooci.com and get 30% off everything until 24 January with the code cloocisale including designer label and abstract vases from £15, abstract sculptures from £5 and even cushion art from £11.99!
• Other unusual homeware items can be found at Bouf and right now you can save up to 70% in the January sale but you need to register for free first to access this (you’ll also get a code for £5 off your next purchase when you spend £50).

Browse through the top deals for book worms this week:

• I’ve finally surrendered and bought the Harry Potter boxed set. If, like me, you’re a late starter, get the paperback set for at Amazon for £37.19 (RRP £59.99) or the adult paperback set for £35.93 (RRP £59.99) at The Hut. If you want hardback copies, Amazon sells the adult set for £69.80, saving you £45.20) and the kids set is £64.10, saving you £40.90!
• At Asda, get Blood Brothers by Josephine Cox for only £3.96 and Loose Woman Carol McGiffin’s autobiography, also for £3.96 – saving you over £4 on both.
• Next, head to WH Smith to save up to 75% on books including bestsellers such as Simon Kerwick’s The Last 10 Seconds (reduced from £6.99 to £3.84) and enjoy buy one get one free on the Richard and Judy Book Club 2011 titles.
