All these "great offers" at up to "only £35 a month"...

I pay £10 a month for my new Nokia 5800 smartphone (touch, email, web, GPS, WiFi), free handset, with 100 mins + 100 texts a month. I also got hefty cashback when I signed up. And I still consider this quite a lot to pay every month for two years!

£35 a month for 24 months is over £800, just for a phone!

Hi eLJay. It was with Virgin Mobile a few months ago (June?), via TopCashBack (£50 back at the time). I had had my eye on that phone for quite a while and pounced when they had a £10/month promotion (in fact it's a long story and I tried to order it several months before that but problems with their order system caused me to miss it that time). 100 calls and 100 texts is more than I need in any case, so it was fine for me (I was PAYG before that).

What I've found works best for me is to scope out what I want well in advance and then be prepared to wait for a while, keeping an eye on the offers available. Then don't forget to use a cashback site!

I also got a sim only deal with virgin in August for £8.50/month for 100 minutes and unlimited texts! Fail to understand why anyone needs a new phone everytime their contract ends if the old one works...
