The winter of 2009/10 will surely go down in the record books as one of the coldest for several decades with several weeks of sub zero and plenty of snow to keep us huddling indoors.
To add insult to injury, the first quarter energy bills for the average household has just been revealed as being £532.70, some £80 higher than predicted due to the extra heating during the cold snap.
What if anything can you do about being lumbered with a bill like this in future? Well quite a bit actually.
Cut your energy bill
The cheapest energy deals are almost always a combination of the following
a) Dual fuel supply
b) Online account management (bills and meter readings)
c) Direct Debit payment
This is because companies offer discounts for online account management, regular payment and managing both energy supplies together.
