Scottish Power's offering £80 cash to switch gas and electricity

Spare cash is hard to come by for many of us lately, so rather than offering freebies or discounts, Scottish Power is offering cold hard cash (well, transferred into your account) if you switch to any of its tariffs before midnight Thursday.

Scottish Power's offering £80 cash to switch gas and electricity

They’re offering £40 per fuel cashback to new customers on all its tariffs including their cheapest online and fixed.  On average, £80 cashback makes the 1st year cost of its online tariff the cheapest around, and for just £10 a year more you could get their fixed tariff which locks your rates until April 2013.

And npower is still giving away up to £100 Love2shop vouchers for anyone switching to Go Fix 8, which also fixes your rates until 2013. You get £50 in vouchers for switching just gas or electricity or £100 for both. This offer is available to all customers, old and new, unless you are already on Go Fix 8.

Here are the current cheapest tariffs based on average cost*. Compare bills for your postcode to find your best option:

Just got a cheque from Scottish power for £350 as we were that much in credit - I didn't even have to ask for it. And that's only after just over a year.

If Scottish Power are offering £80 cashback for a dual fuel switch then does that mean if you go via a cashback site you get two lots of cashback? Topcashback for example offers £70 for dual fuel so if you got both that would be £70 + £80 = £150.

    Worth a try anyway? :)
