People spend more money on affairs than pensions
Your average extra-maritial cheater spends £291 a month on sustaining an affair compared to just £59 a month on saving for a pension.
I've read thousands of dull press releases in my time but I got one this morning that made me chuckle.
It was from a website called IllicitEncounters.co.uk . The site describes itself as a 'discreet and confidential extra-maritial dating service for women and men.'
Today's press release from the site claims that cheating husbands and wives spend more on the their love affairs than they do on saving for their retirement. Apparently your average extra-maritial cheater spends £3500 a year on sustaining an affair. That figure includes spending on accomodation, weekends away, phone calls and, of course, flowers.
The monthly cheaters' spend is £291 whereas the average Brit saves just £59 a month for a pension, according to IllicitEncounters.
Now I should now write something about how people have got their priorities are wrong. And I do think pensions are really important, and £59 a month isn't really enough. But I also think that one should have a bit of fun in the here and now. What's more, I've looked at IllicitEncounters and some of the women look great! Trouble is, I'm not married...
