You can still get £100
Co-op is no longer offering £200 for switching your current account.
In the last month, I’ve written twice about Co-op’s £200 reward if you switched your current account. It was an excellent deal so I was very happy to recommend it.
Sadly, Co-op has announced today that the offer has now been closed completely. It seems like the bank has been overwhelmed with 30,000 current applications since the reward scheme was launched last month.
The only way you can still get £200 is if you applied online for a current account between October 17th and October 24th. If you did that, you can get the £200 if you complete the ‘full switch’ within 14 days of opening the account. In other words, you need to shift your standing orders and direct debits as soon as possible.
What now?
So what can you do now if you fancy getting paid to switch current accounts?
You’ve got two options really:
1. The Santander Preferred Current Account
If you switch to this account you could get between £100 and £300 as a reward, depending on your circumstances.
2. The First Direct 1st Account
You’ll get £100 if you switch to this account and you’ll get another £100 if you close the account within 12 months.
First Direct has an excellent reputation for customer service so I’d recommend First Direct’s offer over Santander’s. You can find out more about the two accounts in Chance to get £200 will disappear soon.
And if you can’t face going through the hassle of switching, then that’s fine. It’s up to you!
