Every year we ask lovemoney.com readers to tell us about the products they use. Using online research we survey real customers of financial service providers. They are asked to rate the products they use and tell us about different factors such as customer service and the interest rates. We then collate all of those results and rank each brand in each category according to what actual customers have said.
An example question:
How do you rate your credit card provider for Customer service?
Respondents can only choose one response. That response is then scored – excellent receives 5 points whilst terrible scores 1 point. We then total up the points and average them out over the number of respondents – as some brands have more customers than others - and we end up with overall average scores for each brand.
The highest scorer receives our gold winner award and the 2nd and 3rd scores receive our silver cheers award.
